Checkmate Charters and Captain Nathan Brady welcome you on a fishing adventure out of Cape Canaveral, Florida! They currently specialize in near coastal fishing trips in the Atlantic Ocean as well as offshore deep sea fishing. They offer a range of trips for anyone from beginners to the well-seasoned fishermen. All the trips are private and can be personalized to suit your needs. Bring the whole family (up to 6 total) and children are welcome (no infants please, they must be able to fit into a life vest) Your captain will work one-on-one with you to teach you about his style of fishing. For any questions or concerns, just message him before booking and he’ll respond as soon as possible. Welcome aboard and tight lines!
You’ll fish from a custom 34’ Stuart Angler offshore sport fishing boat restored in 2020. This comfortable boat is equipped for the way you’ll fish and includes all you need to get the job done. It can fit 6 anglers, runs on a 450 HP Cummins 6CTA engine to get you to the fishing grounds fast and in comfort, and has got a private toilet you can use if needed. Apart from modern navigation electronics, the boat’s equipped with a fly bridge with full controls, livewell, outriggers, downriggers, and an ice-box.
Nearshore, you can explore the Atlantic for sharks, Red Drum, Stingray, and many other species. If you travel offshore, you can deep sea fish for various pelagic species such as King Mackerel, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Cobia, Tuna, Barracuda, Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, sharks, and much more!
You should only bring your food and drinks for the day, and a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are recommended. You can keep your catch as well as bring kids on the trip. 15-20% gratuity is customary for the captain working for you that day.
We ask that no glass bottles, hard liquor, and spray sunscreen to be brought on the boat.
We will call between 5-8 pm the day before your trip to confirm everything is still good to go.

There were 4 of us (including a 13 year old kid obsessed with fishing), and the boat was very roomy and we could move around very comfortably. We caught a variety of fish and it was apparent that Captain Nate worked hard to make sure we had the best trip possible. He was especially good with our 13 year old. He also told us about a rocket launch that was happening after our trip and suggested we stay to watch it, which we really appreciated because we had not known about that...and we did stay to watch and enjoyed that so much! Thanks, Captain Nate! I'd highly recommend Checkmate Charters.

7 Hour Trip – Offshore Fishing on July 17, 2024 • 6 adultsTook my entire team out for this fishing charter and had an amazing trip: great weather, calmer seas and everybody hooked into and landed multiple fish. None of them had ever been on a private charter and two of them had never fished a day in their life! We slow-trolled over an active area and stayed while the bite was hot-------------even had several double-hookups. Such a great overall experience with this captain and this charter, it is all my team can talk about right now. Would highly recommend them and will definitely book them again in the future.

We were only out for a short amount of time before we had our first shark! By the end of our trip we had caught 10 sharks and countless smaller fish! Other charters around us weren’t catching a single thing the entire time we were out and we were catching what seemed to be non stop! Captain Nate and Luke made such a great team and made our trip absolutely worthwhile and a great afternoon! Next time we are back in Florida we will definitely be booking with them again!
