Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your trip begins aboard a 35' Sea Hunter center console with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
A few items to bring include sunglasses, a hat, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Half Day Trip – Offshore on May 10, 2026 • 4 adultsWe had a great 1/2 day with Capt Todd on the Getting Tight. Was me, my wife and daughter and a friend. We wanted to catch Mahi and thats exactly what we did. Capt Todd had a plan from the start and it worked out very well. Plenty of fish and great fun. The boat is really nice. Clean and new with all the space you could want. We had a quite windy day with pretty rough seas and the 35’ Seahunter handled it very well. Capt Todd is friendly and patient and let us do as much or as little as we wanted. The action was solid from begining to end. He works very hard to make sure you have the best chance to have a safe, fun and productive day on the water. He was great with my wife and daughter and wanted to make sure they had a great day. You can tell he truly cares about his customers. Highly recommend Capt Todd and the Getting Tight. Will definitely be booking with him again on our next trip down to the keys.

3/4 Day Trip – Offshore on June 25, 2026 • 4 adults • 1 childThis couple is amazing. We have fished St.Thomas, Punta Cana, Honduras, Key West, Galveston, Rock Port, Port Aransas, and South Padre in our 20 years of fishing saltwater. This couple made our whole trip worth it. Their boat and equipment is top of the line. Ladies there is a restroom so dont be afraid to use it. They made my ten year old son so happy and taught him alot. My husband tends to get sea sick and was not on this boat out in the Atlantic. We even spent a whole day our because we were having so much fun. We will be back!! Mahi Mahi was on and other fun catches.

Captain was flexible with our schedule and weather to provide the safest and best experience as possible. with the winds and waves up, my wife and I felt very safe and comfortable with Captain Todd at the helm. First mate Josie didn’t miss a beat and is very knowledgeable and and made us feel incredibly welcomed comfortable from beginning to the end. Captain Todd put us on fish in not ideal conditions. Highly recommend Gettin Tight Charters. We will be back for sure.

Captain Todd and Josie were very friendly and accommodating to anything we needed. When their bio said they were serious about putting their clients on the fish, they meant it. We wanted to chase down some Mahi and they produced for us. We would definitely book with them again the next time we are in the Keys.

3/4 Day Trip – Deep Drop on June 21, 2024 • 6 adults • 2 childrenThis captain and wife is a family business but the customer service is out of this world there patience with the kids is unbelievable and towards all of us on board the captain from the moment he dropped the lines it was all action in the six hour trip we had today we caught 25 Mahi Mahi and 3 Tunas in all my years visiting the keys to and going fishing I have never had such a wonderful captain and first mate getting tight Charters is out of this world it is a must stop and visit for your fishing trip of a lifetime thank you captain Todd and Julie it was an unforgettable fishing trip.

Half Day – Bridge/Mangrove Island on June 27, 2024 • 5 adults • 3 childrenThe captain worked with us to make sure we could go out on a fishing adventure with him on the date we needed. He had everything ready to go when we got there, and got us right out onto the water. We went as a family of 5, and our 9 year old didn't have the attention span for fishing, so Captain Todd let him reel in all the lines he threw out in the back of the boat. This kid walked away feeling like a champion fisherman! We all caught a bunch of fish, and even had some to take to a restaurant that night. It was really the highlight of our family trip.

Full Day Trip – Offshore on July 6, 2025 • 3 adultsOur crew and boat were amazing even with fishing conditions that were not the best. We caught a ton of fish and brought back enough mahi and tuna to have our own all you can eat buffet 2 nights in a row! Would highly recommend- Todd and Josie were awesome!

Half Day – Bridge/Mangrove Island on April 12, 2024 • 2 adultsTodd had us on fish on the first cast. Brought home a ton of good eating fish: Mackerel, Yellowtail Snapper and Yellow Jack. Also hooked some Mangrove Grouper, Blue Runners, a few big Barracuda bites and sightings, and lastly a nice Grunt. Way more fun and fish than we expected. Todd is an excellent captain!! After fishing we sat at his home bar in the back while he cleaned the fish. What a perfect trip!
