Above and Below Adventures welcomes you to the stunning waters of Cudjoe Key. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Jose is prepared to put you on fish.
These waters hold game fish like Yellowtail Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Black Grouper, Red Grouper, Mutton Snapper, Great Barracuda, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Mahi Mahi, Cobia, Wahoo, and more with any luck. You can expect to do some spinning, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
You'll be casting lines from a 34' SeaVee center console with a capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. You can't go wrong when you bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now's the time to experience fishing in Cudjoe Key for yourself, with Above and Below Adventures!
