Captain Jose Rodriguez is a Florida Keys native, swordfish specialist, and owner of Above & Below Fishing Adventures. Raised on the water and mentored by a lifelong commercial fisherman, Captain Jose has spent his life learning the reefs, wrecks, offshore grounds, and deep-water fisheries that make the Florida Keys famous.
Known for landing a 480-pound swordfish, one of the largest caught in the Lower Florida Keys, Captain Jose has earned recognition as one of the region's emerging swordfish experts. His specialty is daytime swordfishing, targeting trophy swordfish in depths from 600 to 1,600 feet.
We also offer offshore fishing charters for mahi mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, and kingfish, along with reef and wreck fishing trips targeting yellowtail snapper, mutton snapper, mangrove snapper, grouper, hogfish, and more. Seasonal lobster charters are also available.
Fish aboard a new 2025 32' SeaVee powered by twin Mercury 300s and equipped with Simrad electronics, Starlink WiFi, LP Electric Reels, premium tackle, and a private restroom.

Captain Jose and his crew did an amazing job! The weather and wave conditions were very difficult to fish in and Captain Jose still helped us land multiple sailfish in conditions when just anout any other captain would struggle. He kept us safe snd engaged the entire trip and I would highly reccomend.
