1033 S. Lakeland Beach Road
Kendall NY, United States

Owned and operated by Captain Chris Jolliff, Jolly Sportfishing specializes in fishing for Salmon and Trout on the open waters of Lake Ontario. This full service charter runs seasonally, going out on the water at the beginning of April and fishing through the spring and summer until approximately mid October.

You will be fishing aboard the Small Fortune, a 26 foot Baha Cruiser powered by a 5.7 liter V8 Pleasure Craft engine that is located in the center of the boat under the deck. This creates a quieter ride without having engines at the back that might get in the way of battling the King Salmon of Lake Ontario. The boat is equipped with top quality navigational electronics from Sitex and Garmin, and features two Big Jon electric planer reels, three Walker Tournament Series downriggers and multiple Traxtech rod holders. The boat’s comfortable, stable ride and ability to find fish will make your adventure a memorable one.

Fishing out of Sandy Creek, Capt. Chris targets King Salmon, Brown Trout and Steelhead (Rainbow Trout). The species targeted depends on the season, with Brown Trout predominant in early Spring and Kings and Steelhead being more numerous from May until the end of the season. At the height of the Summer the fishing can take place up to 12-13 miles into the lake, while during the Spring and Fall the fish are found closer to the shore.

All levels of angler are welcome on board. Capt. Chris particularly enjoys teaching children how to fish, supplying life vests that are comfortable and fit children properly. While Capt. Chris promotes catch and release he is happy for you to keep some of your catch and will clean and bag it for you to take home. For extra fee your fish can be smoked and delivered to you in the local area within a few days of your trip.

I've been fishing the big lake for salmon and trout since I was 4 years old, cutting my teeth on spring brown trout in a 14' motor boat with my Dad. We eventually got a little bigger boat outfitted with offshore equipment, and by age 12 there wasn't anything I couldn't do on the boat. At age 14 I got my first job as a mate on a charter boat, and from that point on that's all I wanted to be was a Lake Ontario charter boat captain.

Highly Recommend.  We had never been on a charter before, so I was a bit nervous.  Captain Chris was wonderful.  Very patient and knowledgeable.  He explained the fishing details to the guys, and my daughter and I just got excited to bring in the fish.  We caught several salmon, including a monster that we all had turns taking on the fight.  This was the highlight of our vacation.  Thanks!
