There's a fish with your name on it in Algeciras, and Pura Pesca will help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Daniel is prepared to put you on fish.
Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Bonito, Dentex, Mahi Mahi, Grouper, Blue Marlin, Rockfish, Little Tunny, Bluefin Tuna, and more could be biting, depending on when you go. On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll using heavy tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Any fish you catch are yours to take home, provided they're within size and bag limits. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Your next meal doesn't get any fresher than that! Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. It's always wise to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks and snacks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.
You'll be casting lines from a 41' Rodman motor yacht with a capacity for 12 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without, plus a toilet on board. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation. There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. Estupendo dia de pesca con esta familia y los niños.
Captain Daniel and his crew were excellent to fish with. Initially Capt. Daniel helped us choose the best trip for this time of year, which was for Giant Tuna. We chose a 12 hour trip, and within the first 4 hours we were hooked up on a Giant Bluefin which measured 265cm and approximately 300kg or 650lbs. A true sea monster! Following this catch, I expressed my desire to try to hook up on stand up gear to provide an additional challenge. Capt. Daniel and his crew put us on the bait with sabikis and we loaded up fairly quickly. We tried to drift live bait on the stand up gear and although we did not get another bite the rest of the trip, we did have a fish close by that failed to eat, as well as other boats getting strikes bear us. Ultimately you can not go wrong fishing Pura Pesca. Their knowledge and expertise is unparalleled, and their 41ft boat is a joy to fish on. I highly recommend fishing Pura Pesca during your visit near the Straits of Gibraltar!
Six adults and one 14 year old fishing for tuna in the straits of Gibraltar in June. We all have a fantastic time and landed a huge 280kg tuna! The Captain and crew were very experienced and super friendly which made the trip lots of fun. I would recommend Captain Daniel and his boat 100%.
