Fish Skinny Charters & Guide Service
Spend the day with Fish Skinny Charters & Guide Service and find out what fishing in Georgetown is all about! Being a true native for over 50 years of the upper South Carolina coast and having logged many hours on these waters, Captain Greg knows them backward and forwards!
Just to the south of Myrtle Beach, on the lower end of what is referred to as the 'Grand Strand,' lies the waters adjacent to Georgetown, SC., Winyah Bay, North Inlet, and the Santee Delta. This area is the northern beginning along the coastal South Carolina Lowcountry of a vast and contiguous estuary system of coastal rivers, bays, sounds, and creeks among expansive marshes with unspoiled scenic views.
All are holding and harboring life above and below the surface. Inshore fishing opportunities abound in these uncrowded, much less hectic waters, and plenty of it. From backwater fishing for Redfish, Trout, Flounder, and more in the marshes to the open bays and inlets which in the summer and early fall months offer a chance also to pursue Tarpon, Bull Red Drum, and other species. This area is an inshore fishing haven, and fortunately, Capt. Greg's 'office!'
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids ages 5 and up are welcome aboard! It's recommended to bring bottled water, snacks, sodas/drinks (no glass), sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses.
The trip is aboard a 21' Bay boat with space for 4 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Your captain will provide the fishing licenses, rods, and reels, as well as lures/bait and coolers with ice.
The safety of his clients is a top priority! Next is that your time together is an enjoyable one. Every effort will be made to see that all have fun and get a tug at the end of your line!

My 6 year old son and I went out with Captain Greg and it was fantastic. My son enjoyed every minute from catching bait and spotting alligators to catching several redfish. We ended the morning with a 42” red which was the perfect ending for a great morning.
Captain Greg was a great Captain, changing how we catch fish (artificial lures vs live bait), moving when fishing slowed, all to ensure the best opportunity. He worked to catch our bait at the beginning of the trip so we would have options. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Mainly caught red fish and trout. Great trip!
While I’ve never booked a trip online, I believe it’s imperative that I share some photos and dialogue of my time on the water with Fish Skinny. Captain Greg is simply a younger version of an Old Salt. He knows the water, the channels, the best fishing grounds, and also the history of the areas he fishes. There is never a dull moment on his boat. He strives to give everyone the most opportunities to “sore mouth some big fish”. He makes sure everyone on board is safe, hydrated, costed with sunscreen lotion and baited for the bite. My family and I have spent many hours on the water with Captain Greg and we’ve never been “skunked”. If you don’t want to catch any fish, then don’t book a trip with him. But if catching fish is your thing, please make sure you do book a trip and see for yourself…Captain Greg is all about ensuring your get the best bite for your buck! Can’t wait for the next opportunity to step onboard his boat and catch some nice fish!

It has been a privilege and a pleasure having y'all as continuing clients Allen. Man time goes by quick looking at the pictures of the "younger ones" in your tribe.... WE GETTING OLD CHIEF! Funny thing is back in the day you were always acting as "first mate" for me with them and managing them, now that your lovely bride gets to fill the gap on board with us she helps me manage YOU! Thanks for your business Sir! Till the next episode!! 😎
I grew up and have lived on the northern South Carolina coast for over 50 years and was introduced to fishing at a very early age and have enjoyed it ever since. Not only the catching part but to be out on the water. From freshwater Bass and Bream fishing as a young boy with my dad, along with occasional trips to the piers next to the beach and salt marsh creeks with my grandparents, I was 'hooked.' During my late teens, I began to gravitate more toward saltwater, seizing every opportunity, whether it be inshore, nearshore, or offshore. A friend introduced me to live bait fishing for King Mackerel in the early '90s, and, oh, brother! what a mistake! By the mid-'90s, I was fishing 10-15 tournaments a year locally. My teammates and I competed on the 'Yamaha Pro Tour' from 1999-2001 along the Carolinas down thru the Florida Keys and over to Louisiana. Following that, I reverted back to the casual and less brutal creeks of the estuary, bays, and inlets being my focus ever since. I obtained and have held a USCG Captain's license since 2002. These days I enjoy putting others on fish and watching them do the catching. Believe me, no one on my boat wants you to catch fish worse than me!
