Depending on the season, you might hook into Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod, Crab, Rockfish, and who knows what else! On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Michael can also have you Flounder gigging. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that's dinner!
Your adventure begins aboard a 27' Cruiser with a capacity for 4 passengers. It has downriggers and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
Don't forget to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

Michael is personable and funny, it was very relaxed. He is on top of getting the rods ready, setting the hook and doing a bit of reeling to start things off. We brought quite a few fish to the boat, lots of koho. Unfortunately the majority were not hatchery, so not legal to keep, but we truly appreciated that Michael follows the regulations. We also scored 4 crabs, which was amazing. My son was smiling the whole time, and this is a kid who tends to play it cool. We'd definitely come back, it was a great experience.

8 Hour Trip winter rates on July 14, 2024 • 3 adultsI’ve been out fishing freshwater rivers for 10 years and a few times on saltwater charters and this was by far the best day of fishing in my books. Mike was an incredible host. He had a consistently positive attitude and was very encouraging and patient with my friends who were inexperienced. He’s very attentive and sees all the finer details a fisherman needs to land as many fish as possible and it proved right because we lost count at 22 fish! I’m 100% going to be fishing with Mike every time I come to Nanaimo for a visit! Thank you Mike!

He was patient, explained why we lost fish, reassured us we would bring them in.We started catching within 15 minutes and continued till we left, with the big one at the end. It was new experience for my son fishing in Canada and Mike was a fantastic guide/coach helping him every minute along the way . My son loved fighting those fish in bouncing from one rod to the next at times, a blast ! Exciting new adventure with lots of laughs and great stories about the area . Mike is truly a really nice guy and gave us a guide trip that we will always remember . Fish on ! 👍🏼
