When you visit Hilton Head Island, SC contact Dolphin Discoveries Nature Tours & Family Shark Fishing. Whether the kids are 5 or 8 and reeling in 1-2 footers, or your harder-to-please teenagers are on board and we go to the holes where the 3,4 and even 5 footers hang out either way, the kids will be full of smiles!
Please note that we will not bring any sharks larger than 3ft long, into the boat. Even then it is captains discretion over holding sharks, as safety is our #1 priority.
Our 22’ Carolina Skiff is made for recreational boating and fishing. It’s a great boat to catch some Sharks, stop to see a few dolphins, and enjoy all the beautiful scenery Hilton Head has to offer! This charter can accommodate a group max of 6 guests(Generally, we fish 4 rods max at a time), although ...less people(or with children) gives more room to move about.
Whether a Hammerhead, Bull Shark, Blacktip, or maybe a huge Ray putting up the fight of a lifetime, it’s Hilton Head fun at its best! Our Captains have kids themselves that love to go fishing with their dads on their days off so you won’t be dealing with the old salty fishing guy that does most of the fishing for you. These guys love seeing the excitement on your kids’ faces just like they see on their own kids!
Teens and children is who this is built for, and the crew is very enthusiastic to teach them to fish. For Dolphin Discoveries and Family Shark Fishing, it’s all about summer fun and the kids! Of course, an enthusiastic adult group we love to have as well! All fishing gear, bait, and licensing are included.

Family Shark Fishing | 3 Hour on July 25, 2025 • 3 adultsCaptain Heath and Dolphin Discoveries Family Fishing was everything we expected and more. On a 3-hour trip we had consistent action landing sharks, a couple Rays, and a Skate. We were able to watch dolphins from the time we got on the boat until we were finished so that was a plus. Captain Heath is very knowledgeable about the area and worked hard to put us on fish based on the tide. I would recommend for any level of fisherman to take this trip as it is a low pressure, enjoyable trip. My wife has fished with me in Alaska and Costa Rica and she told Captain Heath this was the best Guided trip she has ever been on.

Our captain was great with my 11yr old the minute he got on the boat. He then started giving us his Hilton Head fishing knowledge as we headed out to our fishing spot. Then the fun began as we tagged Black tip sharks, Bull head sharks, Bonnethead sharks, stingrays and even a catfish. We caught 2 black tip sharks, a hammerhead shark, and a stingray! It was a great day!! The captain was awesome and we had a blast! I highly recommend and will definitely do it again!

Captain Paul was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and made the entire trip fun from start to finish. We caught multiple stingrays and had an amazing time out on the water. The highlight came at the end when Big Nick, the adorable dolphin, followed our boat for about 20 minutes. He stayed right with us, looking like he was smiling the whole way—it was such a special and unforgettable experience! What an amazing 3-hour trip. If you’re looking for a fun, memorable fishing charter with a great captain, I highly recommend Captain Paul!

Our family had an amazing experienve. We all got to catch something and saw a sea turtle and dolphins. The Captain was great with the kids and was very informative tour guide. We will definitely do this again and recommend to friends and family.
