We're likely to go after Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and more, depending on when you go. For these species, you're likely to drift using light tackle or anchored using croaker. Fish caught during the trip are yours to take home, so long as they're within the legal limit. The captain can even clean your catch for you. Have a cooler ready in the car!
You'll find yourself aboard a 22' Baymaster with a capacity for 5 passengers, or a 16' Shoalwater cat with comfortable capacity for 2 passengers. They have all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures or live bait.
Los Gringos Outfitters is a child-friendly charter service, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. It's always wise to bring snacks, drinks, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed.
Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag.

Luke was great from start to finish. We caught trout—including speckled trout—and had plenty for dinner, plus we also landed some red drum. The boat was in very good condition and the trip ran exactly on schedule. Everything was well organized and set up perfectly. We had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend this trip. We will absolutely be back to fish with Luke again. Highly recommended!
We went out and Luke put us on the fish quick. We had a 2man limit of trout in about 30 minutes then caught a limit of redfish. Highly recomend yall give him a try he knows what he’s doing
We had an amazing day on this fishing charter boat trip. Luke was very friendly and knew where to take us to find fish and what gear to fish with. We highly recommend him for a great day of fishing! Despite the weather and high winds, when others would have given up and gone home, Luke made sure we had many chances to catch a lot of fish! He made sure we had plenty of fish to take home, including a prize fish that my wife pulled in! Very awesome day!
Our trip was scheduled for Saturday. I got a message from Luke Saturday morning at 4:50 saying that he was sick and wasn't going to make it. Fortunately we were able to reschedule for Sunday! The fishing was tough, but Luke worked hard and found the fish! We caught 3 keeper trout and both of us limited out on Redfish! When we got back to the marina, the Parks and Wildlife people were impressed. They told us that there had not been many fish brought in today. Especially Redfish! So GREAT JOB Captain Luke! He is very personable and we had a great day! Highly recommended him!
Captain Luke was a great guide and tried to get us into spots to catch fish. We caught several fish but unfortunately most were under the size limit. Luke was very informative about the area and had a gift for gab. Of course, there was that one monster that got away. If I’m ever down in Corpus again I will definitely use Los Gringos again.
