If you’re ready to enjoy fishing in Herradura, we’ve got you covered with American Charters. Your guide for the day is Captain Ronald, offering years of local experience.
Species like Mahi Mahi, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Roosterfish, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and more are in the cards, depending on the time of year. You’ll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also remember to bring snacks – luckily, Capt. Ronald will have some on board!
You’ll be welcome aboard a 28’ Topaz offshore sport fishing that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks provided on board.
