Captain Eric Planer of FloBass Fishing Charters is dedicated to providing the best and most unique freshwater angling experience in South East Florida.

Every trip is custom-tailored to accommodate the species you wish to target, customer's needs, time of year, water conditions, etc. This trip is based in the Florida Everglades near Fort Lauderdale. On this trip you can expect to catch peacock bass, largemouth, bowfin, gar, and a host of other non native species that have made their way into our waters from the aquarium trade. The current record is 12 different species in one day! If you're afraid of alligators, this may not be the trip for you, as we're almost guaranteed to see quite a few out there in the glades.

What sets Captain Eric apart from other guides is his passion for teaching fishing, and the history of the waters he guides out of. Guiding is Captain Eric's way of life. After working behind a desk for 13 years, he relishes every opportunity to hit the water and help anglers land their bucket list fish. When you're on Captain Eric's boat, you're not just another number. You're part of what gets him excited every day and chase the days adventure.

Captain Eric can accommodate anglers of all skill levels. If you're a novice, live bait is highly recommended and available at an additional charge. Market rate is usually $10 per dozen, which the Captain will source in advance of your trip. Light tackle spinning rods are also available for those wishing to target the fish with lures.

We had a great fishing trip!
4 Hour Trip – Peacock Bass on January 25, 20242 adults

Really enjoyed our time with Eric! Eric, not only got us on the fish. He showed us different techniques, that worked great. He has a great boat setup. Plenty of room and gear. I highly recommend Eric for a great fishing trip. I will also add he communicated with me before the trip to work out details and plans. He was very professional and accommodating if he needed to be. 10/10! Keep a look out for his iguana hunting.

Hey there, I'm Captain Eric Planer! Growing up in sunny South Florida, I had a blast honing my angling skills in the local lakes and ponds. After school, you could find me riding my bike to the nearby pond and reeling in around 30 Largemouth Bass before dinnertime. Good times! I also pursued an automotive technology degree and worked as a skilled technician specializing in diesel vehicles. But as much as I enjoyed my automotive career, I couldn't ignore my true passion for fishing and the great outdoors. So, I took a leap of faith and decided to follow my heart. Now, I'm living my dream as a fishing guide, sharing my love for the water and helping people create unforgettable fishing memories. Join me, and let's embark on an exciting fishing adventure together!
