Sam Can Fish offers family friendly charters in Markham Park, where you can catch some of the most coveted fish in South Florida. Captain Sam Rojas has been fishing his whole life and he's prepared to help you land something unforgettable, from the exotic Peacock Bass to the mighty Tarpon. Join him for a day you won't soon forget!
You will fish aboard an 18' Makee powered by a 115 HP Mercury engine. This craft is fitted with top of the line tackle and advanced fishing technology. On board you will find Shimano fishing gear at the ready. Capt. Sam can also provide fly fishing equipment and children's fishing rods upon request. There's room on board for three passengers and children of all ages are welcome.
Fishing in Markham Park gives you the chance to target Peacock Bass, Largemouth Bass, Snook, and Tarpon. These fish are a sight to behold, some of them known for their excellent fighting power and others for their unique patterns. You can join Capt. Sam for a full day on the water or come aboard for a few hours whenever it suits you. Fishing at first light and sunset allow you to take advantage of the best bite.
Even when you don't feel like casting lines, the waters of South Florida have a lot to offer. Come aboard for an eco tour and get up close with a variety of birds, alligators, and more. Capt. Sam provides water. He can provide beer upon request, or you are welcome to bring your own alcohol.
Your trip with Sam Can Fish includes fishing gear and water. Just be sure to bring a freshwater fishing license. Depending on the species, you are welcome to keep your catch.

Full Day Trip on February 5, 2022 • 2 adultsWonderful full day with Sam! I had a friend in from Illinois and he LOVED it! Unfortunately, the fish we were hoping to catch was the peacock bass. We caught Oscar, large mouth bass and the yukky alligator gar. The scenery was amazing. We ended up going to the Everglades as Markham Park would have not had enough water for an entire day. We WILL tour with Sam again! Great conversation, lots of laughs and great “secret” fishing places!

Caught large mouth bass, peacock bass, mud fish, Oscar and an alligator gar. Over 60 fish in total with a couple of real nice specimens.. 4lb large mouth bass and a 7lb mud fish. The Everglades itself was beautiful, saw ospreys catching fish, gators and more specifies of bird life than you can imagine. Fantastic day and Sam himself is a pleasure to be with. Attentive to our needs, so helpful - one of us had never fished before - and great fun. Can’t recommend this trip highly enough - 5 stars all the way.

My husband and son caught the Peacock Bass they were looking for.
Captain Sam knows the freshwater canals and waters very well and apparently many other saltwater spots beyond as well.. His boat is perfect for it and he’s great with kids as he has a lot of grand children. Sam was kind enough to take us on a short notice Father’s Day trip on Sunday afternoon and we caught a ton of fish in terrific scenery. I highly recommended him.
