5th Day Charters is your ticket to the stunning waters of South Padre Island. With Captain Colby at the helm, you’ll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
These waters are known for Redfish, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, and more – with any luck, it won’t take long to hook into some.
On these trips, you can expect to drift using light tackle.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 24’ bay boat with space for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is included at an additional cost, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as no glass bottles.
And that’s it! Your fishing trip with 5th Day Charters is just a click away.
