Maverick Sportsfishing welcomes you to the stunning waters of Malé. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Hussain is prepared to put you on fish.

Green Jobfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Giant Trevally, Coral Trout, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Bohar Snapper, Black Marlin, Sailfish, Rusty Jobfish, and more are in the cards, depending on when you go. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

You’re free to take home some of the fish you catch, assuming they meet regulations. Catch cleaning is available, so you can take your fish home and throw it right into the pan. Talk about bang for your buck!

Kids are welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board.

You’ll find yourself aboard a 28’ Naarehi Marine center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip. The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

It’s recommended to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is not allowed. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
