***Brand new 24 foot boat
If you're ready to discover fishing in Ucluelet, we've got you covered with Big Bite Charters.
Top targets include Coho Salmon, Lingcod, Halibut, Chinook Salmon, Rockfish, and more, depending on when you go. You can expect to do some spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Laurier also offer fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
The captains operate an 24f foot Arrowline center console with space for 3-4 passengers. It comes with downriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect. You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Big Bite Charters will make it easy for you to go fishing in Ucluelet. So, how about booking that trip?

We spent 2 full days fishing for Salmon with Laurier. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, put us on the fish, let us use our "lucky spoons" and taught us some new skills, like squid jigging. "Fishing" and having a great time in the water are highly influenced by your skipper. Laurier excelled in every fashion. While the entire fleet reported spotty success rates, we came home with a freezer full of fish, due mostly to Laurier's adapting to conditions and coming up with inventive solutions. The fish made it tricky but we had a determined and knowledgeable skipper, so we had a blast, came home with an embarrassingly full cooler full of delicious Ucluelet's prized catch, including our "Flavorite" White Chinook salmon. Kudos to Laurier and his easy going style and all his first rate equipment. Thanks so much for making our trip a success, and getting to know you was probably the best part. Sincerely, Jamie and Arla Holliday.

I have fished inland lakes my entire life, last night (Friday August 14th) Big Bite took me salmon fishing for my first every Pacific fishing trip. The weather was not favourable, but in the short trip we landed a limit of Coho and Chinook, and had an amazing fishing experience. Highly recommended for anyone, but if you are a fisherman, you will feel at home with Big Bite Charters!
It was a windy day with a choppy ocean in front of us. Within our 4 hour trip the fishing guide knew exactly where to find fish in calmer water. Great finishing and we’re able to bring in 2 different kinds of salmon. Amazing views from the water. Couldn’t have asked for more within our budget! 100% recommend and will be back!
Captain Laurier is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, kind and hard working which all led to a wonderful trip. We caught salmon after salmon and then switched to halibut which quickly produced results. My two sons mentioned how much fun they had and we appreciate everything Laurier did for us.

Captain Lauriee is a fishermen with a lot of experience in the local waters. We had an impressive day. Laureen was very eager and patient and we were able to catch several Lingcods ( one really big one :) ) and some Salmon.
