These waters are known for Blue Marlin, Shortbill Spearfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Bigeye Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some. On these trips, you can expect to troll using light or heavy tackle.
Depending on the catch, you will share the spoils of your adventure with the crew. Some fish are catch-and-release so they have a chance to fight again. The crew will be happy to fillet and bag some of the catch for you (depending on the size and species)
Capt. Dave runs a 30' Precision offshore sport fishing vessel with space for 3 passengers. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait may available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
The state of Hawaii is now requiring a fishing license, so you may want to visit the Hawaii State website. Have in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. It's recommended to bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Cold bottled water will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board.
Children 10 years and older are welcome.

Full Day Trip on February 8, 2025
Captain Dave was great. Jody and I met him at the landing a little after 6:00 am on 2/8 25 and set out on a beautiful day on the ocean. We motored out of the harbor maybe 15 minutes when Dave started setting lines. Fifteen minutes later about 7:05 a marlin hit and cleared the watyer three times before spitting the hook. Dave thuought it to be about 300 #s. Fifteen minutes later, another strike that ended up in the boat, 145# Blue Marlin. Alot of hard work but well worth the effort.Thanks Dave, you were alot of fun to fish with! Steve ps: Dave was fishing by himself and is a very experienced charter captain. Highly recommended.

Pacific Blue Marlin 74” @ 131 Lbs
Full Day Trip on March 21, 2025
Took the 7 hour trip and caught the elusive Blue Marlin. It is incredible to catch one of these especially for the time of year being March 21st. We had 4 other hits but no other hook ups, one Short-bill Spearfish and a Mahi were 2 of the ones that got away. The Captain is an old salt in a good way he knows his stuff and is personable. The only room for improvement is to possibly do jigging when trolling is not working. However, had he been receptive to this -we wouldn’t have caught the Marlin.

Dave was absolutely amazing and extremely helpful and made our first time experience so fun and memorable! We caught a nice 15lb Ono and almost had a nice Marlin as well! Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to have a very easy going but absolutely fun time with a Captain that knows these waters and how to handle first timers!

3/4 Day Trip on May 12, 2025
We had a fantastic day of finishing with Captain Dave. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly where to go catch fish. We ended up with 2 Wahoo and 1 Blue Marlin on our trip which exceeded our expectations. Dave was kind enough to clean the Wahoo and bag up for us to take to our condo for us to cook dinner! Would highly recommend fishing with Captain Dave and A’u Struck fishing!

This was an incredible experience. I booked Au struck because I was looking for trophy fish for my Husband's 40th for just the 2 of us. I didn't really specify which fish as I would have been greatful for any. Au struck struck gold. About 2 hours in 2 of our rods hooked within seconds of eachother. It took an hour and 15 mins to bring both Blue Marlins in. I would have never succeeded without his strength and expertise. He's been fishing for over 45 years and he is relentless. The reel went out over 9 football fields for the second one while working on the first one. After catching those 2, my Husband was wiped out but he kept going. He didn't rush anything and the motor trolled the whole time. Great guy and great attitude. This was once in a lifetime and we are so grateful.
