Visit Comox Valley Campbell River area, with some of the most pristine waters in the world! Your guide for this adventure is Captain Pete and Wild West Sport Fishing. He’s been catching fish in these waters for over 38 years on the BC Coast.

Guided fishing trips are out of Comox, and Campbell River, Wild West Sport Fishing invites you to check out the local fishery on board a 27’ custom welded aluminum boat that can fit a maximum of 6 anglers. The boat is fitted with a marine toilet and BBQ.

Your captain will do his best to ensure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in trolling, but jigging is also an option. This involves 6 to 8-hour trips, mainly fishing for Chinook Salmon with bycatches of Rockfish, Pacific Cod Lingcod, and occasional Halibut. Coho Salmon also migrate through this area at certain times of the year, and seasonal openings occur.

Setting traps for delicious Spot Prawns is also an option on full-day trips. Federal fisheries openings and closures fluctuate though out the year. Some species may be limited to catch and release; however, there is always the opportunity to bring something home to eat.

The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you’ll need for a productive day on the water. Please keep in mind you’ll need to get a fishing license before the start of the trip. You can keep anything you catch as long as it’s legal to do so. Dress for all weather and bring sunscreen, a hat, favorite drinks, and food (avoid glass, please! It gets broken often and causes a hazard).

This is a children-friendly charter, so you’re welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure. PFD’s are not provided, so bring your own or borrow one from a free loaner rack at the marina we depart from. Transport Canada-approved emergency life jackets are provided for all passengers.

Humpback and orca whales are commonly sighted during these trips, so keep your camera ready and your eyes open.

This trip is a great choice for anglers who want extra fishing time for an affordable price.

This guided fishing trip takes you into the Northern Salish Sea in search of the mighty Chinook Salmon. These fish average 12–28 lb but can grow to over 40 lb on rare occasions. Incidental bycatch of bottom fish can occur. These bottom fish are mostly a variety of Codfish, but the mighty Pacific Halibut are caught from time to time. There is also an opportunity to set traps for Spot Prawns on full-day trips.
