Visit Comox Valley Campbell River area, with some of the most pristine waters in the world! Your guide for this adventure is Captain Pete and Wild West Sport Fishing. He's been catching fish in these waters for over 38 years on the BC Coast. Guided fishing trips are out of Comox and Campbell River, Wild West Sport Fishing invites you to check out the local fishery on board a 27ft custom welded aluminum boat that can fit a maximum of 6 anglers. The boat is fitted with a marine toilet and BBQ.
Your captain will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in trolling but jigging also an option. This involves 6 to 8-hour trips, mainly fishing for Chinook Salmon with by-catches of Rockfish, Pacific Cod Lingcod and very occasional Halibut. Coho Salmon also migrate through this area at certain times of year and seasonal openings do occur. On full day trips, setting traps for delicious Spot Prawns is also an option. Federal fisheries openings and closures fluctuate though out the year. Some species may be limited to catch and release however there is always the opportunity to bring something home to eat.
The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you'll need for a productive day on the water. Please keep in mind you'll need to get a fishing license before the start of the trip. You can keep anything you catch, as long as it's legal to do so. Dress for all weather and bring sunscreen, a hat, your favorite drinks and food (avoid glass please! It gets broken often and causes a hazard)
This is a children-friendly charter, so you're welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure. PFD's are not provided so bring your own or borrow one from free loaner rack at the marina we depart from. Transport Canada approved emergency life jackets are provide for all passengers.
Humpback and Orca Whales are commonly sighted during these trips so keep your camera ready and your eyes open.

Knew the area and what the fish were biting had 3 massive salmon in the boat within an hour of dropping our first line. All 5 of us had a great time, all bagged out on salmon and a couple of cod too, plenty of room on the boat for 6 guests plus the captain. Great chats and heaps of knowledge on fishing in the area after the charter were shared. Would 100% recommend to book with Pete would also return myself with him.

10 Hour Trip on August 21, 2020 • 3 adultsWe did 2 full days with Captain Pete, on the first day we set prawn traps first thing in the morning and went salmon fishing for the rest of the day and it was awesome. We caught 5 keepers and lost quite a few, then we went and picked up up the prawn traps and caught a few of those. It was a great day. On the second day we all caught our salmon and had a great day Captain Pete worked hard to get us on the bite and it was a great bite . Thanks Captain Pete, we had a great time.

Despite the not ideal conditions for a start we were on fish quickly and all landed keepers on board. Conditions settled and all enjoyed the experience.
