Outta Line Fishing Charters
Make the most of your time in Oak Island and go fishing with Outta Line Fishing Charters. Having spent many hours on these waters, Captain Jonmichael can tell you all about the local fishery.
These waters are known for Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Black Seabass, Blacktip Shark, Great Barracuda, and more. On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that's dinner!
Capt. Jonmichael welcomes you aboard a 30' Contender with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Young ones are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't leave home without snacks, drinks, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that daydream into a reality with Outta Line Fishing Charters.

I wanted to start off by saying that I normally don’t leave reviews in general—good or bad—but Outta Line Fishing Charters 100% deserves one. When we first got on the boat, John, like any human being, seemed a little quiet at first. But once we got out on the water and started fishing, he really opened up. We ended up talking about fishing, jobs, careers, life, and pretty much everything in between. It was really easy to have a conversation with him, and you could tell right away that he genuinely knows what he’s doing. John was extremely knowledgeable about fishing and the area, and you could tell he wasn’t just taking us out there and hoping we got lucky. He knew where to go, what to use, how to set everything up, and was always willing to explain what we were doing and why. The fishing started off pretty slow, but one thing that really stood out to me was how dedicated John was to getting us on fish. He never seemed like he was going to just call it a day or accept that the fishing was slow. He kept working, switching things up, trying different spots, and doing whatever he could to give us the best chance at catching something. His effort eventually paid off, and we ended up catching Spanish mackerel and even got a shark! That made the trip so much more memorable, especially knowing how hard he worked to make sure we didn’t leave without getting on some fish. What really stood out to me was that John wasn’t just focused on getting us on fish—he wanted us to have a great experience overall. He was friendly, down-to-earth, and made the trip feel like we were fishing with someone we had known for a lot longer than a few hours. If you’re thinking about booking a fishing charter, I honestly couldn’t recommend Outta Line Fishing Charters enough. Whether you’re an experienced fisherman or someone who doesn’t fish much at all, John will make sure you have a great time. We had an awesome trip, caught some great fish, and will definitely be booking with Outta Line again!

Appreciate the awesome review Luke! Looking forward to having y’all back out again!

Captian Jonmichael of Outta Line Fish Charters was great. We booked a 4 hr near shore trip and the captain put us on the fish quick. We caught some nice 16-18” Spanish Mackerel. We experienced the excitment of a few doubles coming in at the same time. We did loose a big fish but that is part of the excitement. Thanks to Jonmichael and Outta Line, we had a fun day.

Thanks for booking and look foward to taking yall in the future!
We had a great time with our skipper - a great man - he had our boat ready early, ready for the near shore and got our group out to the shoals and sharks. We had a great time and he was always open to whatever we wanted to go after.

Enjoyed meeting you and your family! look forward to doing it again!

Took a 3 hour trip and caught 15 fish!!
