If you’re ready to have fun fishing in Oak Island, we’ve got you covered with Quality Time Fishing Charters. Your guide for the day is Captain Billy, bringing aboard years of sportfishing experience.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Bonito, Black Drum, Great Barracuda, Cobia, Grouper, Black Seabass, Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, Snapper, and anything else that bites. On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Capt. Billy welcomes anglers of all ages, including kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. It’s recommended to bring snacks, drinks, sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Capt. Billy will bring you aboard a 32’ Midnight Express with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work. The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.

Fish on!
Captain Billy and his wife Ashley were the best! Billy called earlier in the day to answer any questions we had and to make sure we had everything. Upon arriving at the boat ramp, which was very easy to find. Captain Billy and Ashely greeted the whole family and welcomed us aboard the boat. Once on, they asked if our kids (all teens and young adult) wanted control of the Bluetooth radio. They were super friendly and treated us just like family. This was the kids first time fishing inshore/offshore and Billy made sure to find the fish for them. Everyone caught a shark and even one about 4’ long that gave our 14yr old boy a good fight. We will definitely be booking again with Billy and Ashley, next time we will do a 10hr offshore trip to catch some good ones. Thanks again Billy and Ashley for the family memories!

Billy gave us a great big welcome and made us feel right at home. He and his crew had a plan but conveyed they were flexible to our interests. They were extremely competent and were a lot of fun. I'd recommend them to anyone!
