Hoping to cast a line in St. Augustine? Make it happen with Todd’s Rods Fishing Charters! With Captain Todd at the helm, you’ll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
Captain Todd is one of the rare locals in the area and grew up fishing the same area you will be fishing. With over 50 years of fishing in these waters as a kid and through out his adult life you won’t find many people who know the area like he does.
These waters are known for Black Drum, Cobia, Flounder, Jack Crevalle, Kingfish, Pompano, Redfish, Weakfish, Tarpon, Spotted Seatrout, and more. You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned.

You’ll be casting lines from a 21’ Center console with space for 4 passengers. It comes with everything else you need for a productive day on the water. Capt. Todd will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is provided when available.

There’s no need to buy a fishing license. Just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

Todd’s Rods Fishing Charters welcomes kids aboard, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available. It’s recommended to bring snacks, drinks, sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Tips are not required but they are appreciated. The industry standard is 15% but if you feel the captain made every attempt to make your trip successful and enjoyable then you can adjust the tip based on your experience.

Todd was a fantastic captain and all around great guy.. Made our day memorable and even made a stop to give us some assistance with the perfect photo op for our honeymoon album. We will be back soon to head out with him for our next visit during the holiday season. we fished several spots. got a really good tour of the Matansas and a great view of St Augustine. caught several different types of fish and saw wildlife. Todd is our man to fish St Augustine, He and his family have lived here basically all his life. we recommend Todds Rods!!

PERFECT EXPERIENCE!

I booked our fishing charter with Todd for my husband’s 48th birthday, we had never been on a fishing charter before and Todd was really really great! We caught fish, had a lot of laughs, told a lot of stories, saw dolphins, sharks, a huge eagle spotted ray, a manatee, and so many things. My husband has been telling everyone about it and says he’ll remember it for the rest of his life. We definitely recommend Todd for your next fishing charter!!

Excellent charter Captain (Unmatched)

We are very experienced with fishing and charters and can tell you without any hesitation that Captain Todd is at the very top of St. Augustine area fishing guides. Don't make a mistake. He has the 3 three B's: Best BOAT, best BAIT, and best BRAIN. He is just plain- no other way to say it - outstanding. We caught a bunch of different species, moved to several interesting spots with a definite purpose, and had a great time for the entire trip. I have been boating my entire life and you can just tell he is safe and believe me it is much more important than you can imagine especially in shallow water or high traffic areas. There are many inexperienced people on the water you need to watch out for them to keep your customers safe and you also need to understand weather by sight and by radar. He does. You can not ask for anything else of Captain/Guide. 5 stars

Amazing experience

3 Hour Trip PM - Inshore/Nearshore on April 17, 2025 • 3 adults • 1 child

We weren’t sure about a chartered fishing trip, but we are so glad we decided to go for it. Captain Todd made our day! He was very professional and it’s obvious that he takes great pride in what he does. His boat was clean, well taken care of, and ready to go for our trip. He was great with our two boys (ages 8 and 14). They had a blast! He took us right out to a wreckage site and within minutes we had a fish on the line. At one point, all four rods had fish on them! He made sure to help each one of us and got our lines back in the water with fresh bait in no time. We caught so many fish! We were able to keep some flounder and sea trout and he filleted them for us before we left. He took us past the lighthouse, Castillo de San Marcos, and the cross on our way back to the dock. He slowed down so we could take pictures and was happy to take a photo of our whole family with our catch. It was the perfect afternoon with memories to last forever! Thank you, Captain Todd

Fun Fishing with Captain Todd!

4 Hour Trip AM – Inshore/Nearshore on February 27, 2025 • 2 adults

My wife and I wanted a low key, relaxing fishing experience while we were visiting St Augustine. Todd delivered. Todd was friendly and, after living in the area most of his life, was able to give us some local history we didn't get in town. We spent a beautiful morning trying our luck in several different spots and ended up catching some nice reds, a few speckled trout and a drum. Todd had all the stuff we needed. The boat was great, tackle and bait were always ready and Todd's knowledge of the area led us to the fish. We had a great time and would definitely use Todd next time we make it to St A.
