Catch 22 Charters – 24' 

it was the end of july and all i was told was this is the worst time to fish. booked it anyways and explained i was booking to catch fish and captain dylan delivered and took us to his spots and we hit our tag limit on red snapper the last of the season. took us to multiple locations where we got fish. probably 20 fish caught in a couple of hours. great experience and it was everyones best time of our vacation. highly recommend.

This was easily my favorite fishing trip I’ve experienced. We caught all types of fish using different techniques and tackle. Started off trolling and then transitioned to some bottom fishing. Hooked up on amberjack, red grouper, kingfish, trigger fish, snapper, Almaco, and presumably a few sharks. Even landed a massive Amberjack that we were able to submit into the Destin Rodeo. Captain John really helped make the trip, he was awesome. He went above and beyond anything I had experienced on previous trips. Very experienced and knowledgeable, he made sure he tailored the trip to what we wanted to fish for and how we wanted to fish. Very professional and organized (can tell he has military background) and someone who is just easy to be around and fish with. If you’re looking for a fishing trip in Destin/Fort Walton area, I Highly recommend Captain John!

We had an absolute amazing time being on Catch 22 boat with Captain John! He and deck hand George were great at showing us how to reel in the fish. Definitely know where the fishing spots are and how to catch them. Caught a variety of fish including Scamp, trigger, black fin tuna, mingo, amber jack, red snapper, mangrove, mackerel, Bonita, shark and even an eel! Some that weren’t regulation but still fun to catch and see! As a bonus got to weigh in at the Destin Rodeo and get on the board! Hands down recommend Catch 22 Charters! I want to start this review that John has zero control over wind OR water...he is definitely not a water or wind bender. I mean, the dance he performed to change the weather conditions (as entertaining as it was) did not change anything!! On a serious note, before the charter, I told John that I had some bucket list fish I would like to catch. One being an Amberjack. We got a nice one as the 1st fish! And it was awesome! We did catch another Spanish Makrel and a Mingo that were keeper. Some red snapper and trigger fish that were too small. With the wind, waves and threat of severe weather, John made decisions to keep us on fish and be safe at the same time. Coming back from fishing, John was able to navigate the weather conditions to give us a safe and as smooth ride as possible (the waves were about 6 to 8 footers). I will absolutely book Catch 22 again and encourage anyone to do the same! Great trip John!!

We booked a trip with Captain John @ Catch 22 Charters. It was a fathers day trip and my son and I made great memories as the competition quickly got underway once my son was 2 up on me. I have been fishing a long time and I been on a few boats in my day... hands down Captain John is one of the best! On a day where the water was rough and the bite was slow Captain John maximized the fishing when the bite happened. Trying multiple methods to keep the action going. We caught multiple species, a few trout, some reds and even managed a nice catfish. Thanks Captain John.. until next time Frank

Captain John made this family deep-sea fishing trip a great and unforgettable one. For some of us it was the first time deep sea fishing and he took the time, to show and explain little tricks and tips from baiting the hook to dropping the bait. Overall, I would highly recommend Catch 22 to anyone looking for a fun and memorable deep-sea fishing trip. Once again, thank you for an incredible day on the water. On this trip there were definitely some new deep sea fishing enthusiasts made. Definitely going to book another trip with Catch 22 in the near future. Thank you

We had a great time on our 5 hour AM trip on Catch 22. We wanted to catch some snapper but also a variety of species. John was a great captain, and he got us on fish throughout the day. My son and I were able to pull in a variety of different fish, including but not limited to several red snapper, Mingo snapper, mangrove snapper, trigger fish, and a tuna. My son also lost a king mackerel to a dolphin during the reel in. I definitely highly recommend John and Catch 22 Charter. We will book again if we return to the area in the future.

Captain John was top notch! We got lucky enough to also have Captain Ryan along. Our trip was scheduled for early morning, but unfortunately the lightening was too much to go out. John waited for the storm to pass and figured out a way to get us on the water. Our first stop we were right on the fish! All 3 of our kids had fish on with the first drop! HIGHLY recommend John (and Ryan)! It was a great day of fishing and conversation!

We were a family of 4 first timers (with 2 teenagers). Our guide not only kept them busy the entire 4 hours but when the dolphins started circling, he just let us enjoy the moment. We caught way too many fish to count and my husband even caught a huge Red Snapper. We chose catch & release since we are traveling and it made for the best day! If we travel to this area again, we will 100% take another charter. Thank you for a great time!
