Time Off Fishing Charter is a family-owned and operated fishing charter in Shalimar, Florida that has fished these waters for over 20 years. If you’re looking to have fun and catch fish, then look no further! Except for being a good-humored angler, Captain Jason Yates is an army combat veteran and a full supporter of the military, first responders, law enforcement, and more! Your trip starts on a 27’ Scout Deep V Center Console big enough to take 6 guests. Running on twin Yamaha engines and rigged with all the modern navigation electronics, the boat will quickly and safely get you to the fish. The boat is equipped with outriggers, downriggers, a livewell, as well as a wireless trolling motor. There’s a portable toilet you can use and an ice-box to store your drinks and food. For any help you may need, feel free to ask the first mate.
Some of the fish you can target includes Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Trigger, Grouper, Amberjack, Mackerel, Redfish, Trout, Wahoo, Tuna, Cobia, and many more. You’ll attract fish by bottom and deep sea fishing, trolling, jigging, spinning, and drift fishing. Kids are welcome to come aboard and you can keep the fish you catch.
Captain Jason covers you for everything from fishing gear to drinks to licenses, and will even clean and fillet your catch for free. Before you go, just bring the food of your choice and you’ll be all set.

Shark Trip
Best Charter around!!
Captain Jason and his deck hand were awesome! They were both very friendly and made sure that all of our boxes were checked. we booked a shark trip, but the sharks weren’t hitting. Captain Jason immediately offered to get us on some King Mackerel since the shark bite was down. We were able to hook a 45 King mackerel. Captain Jason didn’t have to do this for us, but he wanted to ensure that we had the best trip possible. Would 100% recommend this Captain to ANYBODY looking to catch some fish and have a safe fun time!

We had a small window of opportunity to go out between storms. Captain Jason told us we wouldn’t be able to bottom fish because of the conditions but we could take a chance on trolling for a big King Mackerel and boy did he deliver! My son wanted to catch a big fish and was treated to a 35lb King Mackerel, what a day with Captain Jason and his First mate! They were so kind and friendly to us.

Amazing Experience
Absolutely fantastic experience! The staff on this fishing charter were amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make the trip enjoyable for everyone. From start to finish, everything was well-organized and professional. We caught a good amount of fish and had a great time on the water. The kids had an amazing time. Half Day Trip – Offshore (Noon)
June fishing trip
captain jason and his deck hand drew gave us a great fishing experience in the gulf. we caught all kinds of fish and even a 10 foot shark. they filleted all the fish for us that we got to keep. we listened to rock and roll music and had lots of laughs on the water and made good memories. 10/10 will be coming to fish with them again!!! even caught a cool jason tshirt to take home since we got wet!! 🎣🎣👍🏽

6 Hour Trip – Offshore
Great experience
I took my son out fishing with Captain Jason for his birthday. This was our first experience with a fishing charter. We had a great day despite rough seas and weather. We caught 4 big Kings as well as other fish in our 5 hours on the water. When bait was in the water it never seemed to take long to get a bite so we had pretty consistent action. The weather cut our trip short by about an hour which was a bummer but obviously have no control over that. My only complaint was with the bait. It appeared that on other boats the guests were helping to catch the bait. We only had one pole rigged up to catch bait and and the first mate was catching the bait. If we would have had two more poles ready to catch bait it certainly would have reduced the time spent catching bait and increased the amount of time fishing. If we would have had consistent bait we would have caught a bunch more fish. Overall it was a great day and a great experience. Captain Jason certainly knows what he is doing and where to go to make it happen. If I am ever in the area again looking to do another charter, Captain Jason would be my contact. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable birthday for my son!
