captain Mac did not dissapoint! when i booked i was unaware it would be the coldest trip of the season, nevertheless captain Mac put my brother and I on our first ever steelhead! 100% recomend booking with Mac if you've never fished the brule or are unfamiliar with this type of fishing.

Thanks Klint!
Capt Mack shared his knowledge, and time, with great enthusiasm for his sport. highly recommend him.

Thanks so much for booking a trip Matthew!
Had a blast with Mack and improved my casting so much. Couldn’t have done it without him. He was super helpful.

Thanks again Soren! Reach out with any questions about fly fishing!
Had a great time with Captain Mack. He knows his stuff!

Thanks so much for booking Bob!
I have been mostly a self taught trout fly fisherwoman since the age of 6, so when the stars aligned and I got an opportunity to fish the beastly Brule, I went looking for some help. Mack was the perfect fit. He had excellent communication with me, starting with a meet and great phone call to discuss logistics, hopes for the trip, gear, and any accommodations needed. He put me immediately at ease with his genuine ability to connect with other humans and his vast knowledge and passion for the fishing of the north and south Superior shore tributaries. He provided everything my mom and I needed for the trip and shared his knowledge freely, as an incredibly approachable teacher. He provided insightful and encouraging feedback, but left enough space for one to explore and work out your own kinks (skill kinks that is, he has your back on any line hangups). For a man who expertly guides other guides, he was an incredibly effective, patient, passionate and professional, natural born teacher for my mom and me, who were hungry for knowledge and skill, but ultimately lacking both. His fun sense of humor and varied interests make him a joy to be with. Mack went above and beyond by helping us piece together the gear and setups for the remainder of our trip. We feel incredibly grateful to have stumbled upon Mack and you will be too. We will be back!

Thank you for the kind words and for booking a trip, Molly! It was a joy to fish with you and your mother, and I can't wait to hear about your future fishing adventures in northern Wisconsin!
I grew up on the north shore of Lake Superior and have been living on the South Shore for the past decade. I have dedicated thousands of hours to fishing tributaries on the south shore and am eager to share my knowledge with clients. Fly fishing and centrepin fishing are my preferred methods to target migratory fish but I am not a stranger to spinning gear with hardware or float setups.
