This was our first time doing a fishing charter. We went Saturday, November 1. It was chilly at first, but we brought our jackets so we were fine.. we bought an extra pint of live shrimp since we were going four hours.. Captain Anthony was great. He's been fishing his whole life and knows his stuff. He is very personable and told us lots of stories.. we went to several locations, testing the waters and finally at the tail end of our trip, I caught a red fish, which was the main fish I was after.. we brought home about 10 nice fish that day. We went home, cleaned them and fried them up. They were delicious.. Would definitely go again with Captain Anthony, but maybe next time we'll take a longer trip!!

Captain Anthony made our 1st deep sea fishing trip one to remember. He was great to communicate with prior to the trip. Before we even loaded up onto his boat, he had already been out and located where the fish would be. A quick boat ride and then it was time to fish. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and just a great guy to enjoy fishing with. This trip to Galveston was for my husband and my anniversary and our birthdays (all within the same week 😅). We booked this fishing excursion as something fun and new to do before our cruise set out the following day and it was exactly what we were looking for. After our catch, Anthony gave us a recommendation of where we could take our fish somewhere local enjoy a "hook and cook" lunch. And his recommendation was perfect! Anthony really helped start anniverary/birthday trip off on the right foot and we couldn't be more grateful. Even if you're staying in a hotel with no car like we were, Uber was able to handle this trip, no problem. A great pre-cruise idea! I’ve fished sailfish in the Pacific in Mexico, rainbow trout in Wyoming, tuna amberjack snapper etc out of Venice LA, and bonefish & tarpon in Key West, FL. I’ve seen a guide or two but let me tell you about Capt Anthony Hewitt. He didn’t do one thing right, he did them all. Catching fish is his job but the way he goes about it sets him apart. He didn’t try to tell us how great he was. He didn’t try to outmatch our fish stories. He ALWAYS had a bait ready when we needed. Conversation was free flowing. He learned about our family and we learned about his. We caught fish and more importantly I think we might have just caught a friend in the process. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would Recommend

You hit the jackpot with fishing guides when they are not only knowledgeable about their craft, but personable as well, which makes for a fun trip! Captain Anthony took us to the first fishing spot and within 10 mins of lines in, I hooked a 4.5 ft alligator gar! We brought him to the boat, but knew it was best we didn't bring him INTO the boat...haha! We ended the day with several black drum, sea trout, and gafftopsail catfish, as well as a Stingray! Captain Anthony worked hard to find us fish, even when fishing during slack tide, and he was very helpful with giving us tips for our pier fishing we plan to do this evening! Totally recommend LIV Fishing!!

Me, my cousin and uncle had an incredible fishing trip with Captain Anthony! From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Anthony is a third-generation fisherman and captain, and it shows in every way, his expertise, passion, and deep knowledge of fishing and the waters around Galveston made the trip unforgettable. Despite challenging conditions with 20+ mph winds and gusts reaching 40 mph, Captain Anthony handled the boat like an absolute expert. He safely and efficiently took us to multiple fishing spots with true confidence, the man and his boat are one. His understanding of fish patterns, bait species/spawns/locations, and the local environment was remarkable. He constantly shared insights with us, teaching us a lot throughout the day, and made the whole experience feel more like fishing with a good friend than just a guided trip. Anthony's dedication to finding fish was unmatched, if an area wasn’t producing, he quickly recognized it and moved us to better spots, using his experience and methods to ultimately put us on some great fish. His familiarity with the bay and his ability to read the conditions was truly impressive. Most importantly, he went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and cares about giving people the best possible experience. If you’re looking for a top-tier fishing guide who is knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, I highly recommend Captain Anthony, I will be returning often and soon.
