Fishing with Captain Anthony Wescot and First Mate Mike is never a dull moment! They make sure their clients are comfortable, happy, and, at the end of the day, satisfied with their catch!
Depending on the season, you might hook into Grunt, Great Barracuda, Goliath Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Jack, Kingfish, Snapper, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Rainbow Runner, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and anything else that bites. You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your boat for the day is a 28' Center console with space for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Anthony has rods and reels for you, as well as lures.
Trips are run with the help of First Mate Mike. Mates often work for tips, and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip. Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually online, or you can ask the captain.
After the trip, the captain can recommend a restaurant to cook your fresh catch. Now, that's dinner! Remember to bring sunglasses and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks and some snacks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 Experience! I had such an amazing fishing experience with Papa Smurf! I booked this trip to celebrate my birthday with my dad, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. 🎣💙 The captain and crew were incredible and worked so well together. They made the entire experience easy, fun, and enjoyable from start to finish. You could tell they knew exactly what they were doing and really wanted us to have a great time. And the fishing did NOT disappoint — we caught 3 mahi-mahi and a barracuda! 🐟🔥 Such an exciting experience and an amazing memory to share with my dad for my birthday. Afterward, they recommended that we take our fresh catch over to Dinghy Dock to have it cooked, and that was the perfect way to end the day! We had some of the fish blackened and some fried, and it came with two sides for a really good price. There’s nothing better than eating the fish you just caught! 😍🐟🍽️ From the fishing to enjoying our fresh catch afterward, the whole experience was unforgettable. 10/10 would recommend Papa Smurf, and I would absolutely book with them again! 🎣🌊

Captain Anthony and Mike were both super friendly and made the whole trip easy and enjoyable. They gave clear directions and guidance throughout the day, and even though the seas were a little rough, Captain Anthony handled the boat really well and kept us fishing comfortably. We had a great day and caught two nice tuna along with mahi-mahi. Mike cleaned and cut up the fish we wanted to keep and packed everything into the cooler we brought. We obviously didn’t need both tuna, so they kept the other one, which was perfectly fine with us. Overall, it was a great fishing trip with a good crew, good communication, and some really nice fish. We’d definitely recommend Papa Smurf Charters.

We booked the 4-hour deep sea fishing trip, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! We brought my mother in law, who loves fishing but rarely gets the opportunity to go, and she was so happy the entire time. The crew took excellent care of us from start to finish, and it was obvious that they are highly skilled and experienced fishermen. We caught a mahi mahi and two barracudas, which made the trip even more exciting! Afterward, the crew recommended that we take our catch to Charlie's, a local restaurant, and it was one of the best recommendations we could have received. They prepared our fish four different ways, and every dish was absolutely delicious. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip, and I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting St. Maarten!

Captain Anthony (Papa Smurf) and First mate Magic Mike were so amazing. I booked a half day deep sea fishing trip for myself and they went above and beyond. They were so kind,helpful, knowledgeable and encouraging when I was trying to reel in my catches. Both work equally hard in different ways to help you to get the best fish to take home after. Mike was constantly working the rods/rigs/tackle and Anthony was navigating the waters to find the best areas for catching the fish! I got lucky and was fortunate enough to get great weather and snag a couple fish. We caught 2 barracudas (we released after) & 2 Mahi Mahis (my goal catch). Once we got to the dock, Mike cleaned and prepped my fish to take home. I brought some to a local restaurant to cook by recommendation by Captain Anthony! I will definitely book again when I come back in September! Thanks for the memorable experience! FISH ON!

Anthony 'Papa Smurf' and Magic Mike were great!!! We did a 3/4 day trip. Even with rough early morning seas they made catches happen. We caught a King Mackerel, Wahoo and albacore tuna, as well as several barracuda. We had 5 people (parents and 3 teens) on board and they took great care of us! The boat is a little small so if you're prone to get seasick, this may not be the advture youre looking for. Although we started out slow, the guys put us on some fish. We even saw a shark follow our King fish to the boat. Luckily, they helped get it in so it was our dinner, not the sharks! They filleted our catch and helped us get connected with Charlie and Valsta at Charlies Place that cooked our fish to perfection for a fun fresh dinner. A great experience & highly recommend this crew!
