Year-round you can target Walleye and let us tell you they don’t call it the Walleye Capital of the world for nothing! The Yellow Perch fishing in the fall is world-class. Erie has world-class smallmouth bass fishing but it’s somewhat seasonal so inquire best times to target.
Trips with Lake Erie Sportfishing Charters are child-friendly! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, dont worry we have two aboard for children under 90 pounds! If you need more than two please ask!
We have a fleet of boats to acommodate you trip. We have sportcract boats, island hoppers, and Baha Cruisers walkarounds with space for 6 adults. It has autopilot to do the heavy lifting keeping you on the fish while you are busy reeling them in! All of our captains have rods and reels for you, along with lures everything you need to catch fish. You just need to bring a good attitude and willingness to learn. This is a very high-level tournament-style fishing! You can get right in there and set lines with us or just do the fun stuff and reel them in once we are hooked up!
Before coming aboard, be sure to have local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. You can’t go wrong when you bring sunblock, a hat, bottled water, refreshments, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

The charter operation canceled -2 days after the trip date.
We had an awesome trip with Captain Tim! We left right on time and started the day fishing for yellow perch. The bite was a little slow at first, but it picked up and we caught plenty of fish and had a great time. We originally booked a walleye charter, but Captain Tim was upfront with us that the walleye bite hadn’t been great lately, so we decided to spend the last 2–2.5 hours trolling for them. We ended up landing 4 walleye, with 3 keepers, and had an absolute blast! Our 3- and 7-year-old had a great time catching fish and even loved helping everyone bait their hooks with minnows. Captain Tim was great with the kids and made the whole trip enjoyable for our family. We’ll definitely be booking with him again — next up is an April walleye trip!
Capt Jim got us on perch out near b-can this morning, despite an East wind. He taught us all perch catching techniques and even contributed to our overall totals. we throughly enjoyed our experience and Capt Jim’s hospitality and expertise.
So, overall my family had a good time and we had fun catching fish even though they weren't biting a whole lot, but, some things need communicated a lot better and upfront before i could say i would come back. Our captain was Jim and he was a really nice guy but we didn't know that Jim smoked and we were never asked if that was going to be an issue before our trip, considering we obviously were all so close together in a boat and no one should have to be around that for 4 hours. Secondly, the details for our trip said we could either pay cash OR Paypal when our trip was complete, so we were going to use Paypal (who carries $500 cash on them these days?) but were informed by Jim he only takes cash. That would have been nice to know before our trip so we didn't have to flag down an ATM and then come back to pay him. Directions to the pier were foggy too, having multiple captains with boats at different places, had we not got a call the day before as to the location of Jims boat we would have been lost, especially not being a local and coming from a different state. So please clear up some things for folks before their trip.
this was a Bachelor's Party / dad and kids trip. we caught fish, had a geat time, and our captain was perfect. I WILL be using him again.
