Tail Chaser Fishing Charter invites you to enjoy a day of Walleye fishing aboard the Tail Chaser around the Lake Erie Islands. Captain Mike specializes in trolling for Walleye fishing and is able to accommodate up to six guests per trip.
Fishing on Lake Erie Island means you are in for some serious fishing action as this region is well known throughout the world for Walleye fishing. Fishing is excellent from mid-April through November 1.
Captain Mike owns and operates a 30’ Sport Craft performance fishing boat, originally built in 2002 with a capacity for up to 6 guests. Powered by a 454 Mercruiser engine, with a maximum cruising speed of 24 knots, the Sport Craft is very reliable on the water. The search for the fish is aided by GPS and a fishfinder, and the catch is stored in the available ice-box. There is a toilet on board for your convenience, as well as all the safety equipment needed.
Tail Chaser Fishing Charters carry all the fishing gear so you don’t have to. They provide Shakespeare rods and reels, tackle, a variety of lures, and live bait. The first mate is on board to help you with baiting your hooks and reeling in your fish. They work extremely hard to make your trip an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Please note, you are to obtain a fishing license in accordance with the State of Ohio fishing regulations. You are welcome to bring food and drinks on the trip, as well as hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing. Customers are responsible for fish cleaning, there is a fish-cleaning station in the marina or there is Bays Edge Fish Cleaning Service 10 minutes from the dock, and they are cash only.

Half Day –Walleye Trolling (PM)
40 fish in 4 hours
Booked the 4 hour afternoon trip to kill an afternoon. Fishing started a bit slow but was filled with great conversation with captain Mike. Once we found fish, the bite was hot, the two of us could hardly keep hooks in the water for all the hookups. We lost count of the fish we boated, but counted 40 clips we used when cleaning up. Captain Mike is a safe, experienced, knowledgeable, fun captain to hang with. 10/10 would fish again. Had a blast

Half Day –Walleye Trolling (AM)
Productive Trip
We fished with Mike Dean and Tail Chaser Charters on Saturday June 28th in the AM for a 4 hour trip. Mike is a great captain, very knowledgeable. It was nice to see him laser focused on getting us on fish instead of joking on the radio with the other captains. We caught a good haul of walleyes and took home some nice sized fish. I would definitely recommend Mike Dean and Tail Chaser Charters.

Great Experience
Captain Mike was very patient, knowledgeable and fun. He took his time teaching how to troll and read the tracking monitor. We had a great day on the lake. Captain Mike even had the fish cleaner waiting at the shore when we got in to pick up our fish and clean and filet them. We will definitely be booking again in the future.
