Sundance Sportfishing Charters
Make some memories in Marathon and go fishing with Sundance Sportfishing Charters. With Captain Bob or Willie at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
Species like Amberjack, Tarpon, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Black Grouper, Gag Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Sailfish, Mutton Snapper, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Swordfish, and more could be biting, depending on the time of year. You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Bob or Willie can also have you kite fishing.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Don't forget your snacks.
You'll find yourself aboard a 35' Pursuit center console with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly and they work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain. It's never a bad idea to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Sundance Sportfishing Charters!

We had a cold front move in with windy conditions, but Jason put us on the fish right away and kept us busy all day. Great time and I would have Jason as our guide anytime.

Thank you Eric. Look forward to fishing with you again. Thank you for the 5 Star Review.
We had a great day with Capt. Bob. He worked hard to get us on our target fish.

Thanks for the Great review guys! Cant wait to fish with you all again.
My wife purchased a half day deep sea, half day reef trip for my 60th B-day present. She was very specific when booking the trip on this platform that we wanted to target Swordfish, Tuna & Wahoo on the deep sea portion and then Snapper & Grouper while we reef fished. We spent the entire day deep dropping for swordfish. Because we had some rough conditions, it took 2+hours to get to the swordfish grounds. On the way out we saw birds working and we caught a few dolphin fish. We basically spent the rest of our allotted time deep drifting for swordfish. I figured at some point since we only had one “bite” for the next few hours that we would call it quits, go to the the reef and finish the day catching the other species we mentioned in our initial request. That didn’t happen. We did target a few more working birds on the way in so we caught a decent amount of Mahi. I guess it’s my fault for not taking the initiative to advise our captain of something I expected would have been directly communicated by this site. I have to admit I’m confused about why the trip is labeled as half day deep sea/half day reef when we spent no time at all fishing the reef. Captain Willie and Mate Todd were great. I highly recommend them. I just wish I had done a better job of communicating that while it would have been really cool to catch a swordfish, it was far from my sole target species. I would’ve preferred to fill the box with snapper and grouper. Lesson learned ya’ll.

Hello Rich! I read over your message and your review and I agree with your reply in regards to the way our ad reads. We are updating our descriptions this month and the changes were set to go in effect next month. Our Swordfish Deep Drop charter is primary just that. Swordfishing is a totally different animal altogether and not for everyone. It can be monotonous and since we Swordfish in 2000'+ of water, it takes up alot of time to get out to the Swordfish grounds that we target, then wind and sea conditions compound the issue. We always have the Captain contact you 24-48 hrs prior to your trip to discuss your expectations. Since you wanted to Swordfish as well as target other Palegic species, we discussed Swordfish 1st, then target other species on the way in. So that's what we did. Our ad doesn't mention half day offshore /half day reef as you mentioned. Our ad mentioned the species available for deep drop Offshore. We pride ourselves on giving our customers the BEST experience possible. We have been in business since 1980 in Marathon and have an incredible and loyal return customer base. We would love the opportunity to fish with you again and Prove ourselves and Win your trust in us again. Thank you, Bryan White Owner
