Make the most of your time in Placencia and go fishing with Belize Reef Charters.
Species like Sailfish, Wahoo, Black Grouper, Dusky Grouper, Goliath Grouper, Snowy Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack, Blackfin Tuna, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Caribbean Queen Snapper, Mutton Snapper, and more are in the cards if conditions are right. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing.
You’re welcome to take home any fish you catch, assuming they’re legal to harvest. Catch cleaning is available, so you can take your fish home and throw it right into the pan. Talk about bang for your buck!
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks – lucky for you, there will already be some on board!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 34’ Baja center console with space for 5 passengers. It has outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks included on board.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that day dream into a reality, with Belize Reef Charters.
