Addicted to Scales and Tail welcomes you to the stunning waters of the Emerald Coast. With Captain Hoover at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
These waters are known for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Jack Crevalle, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few! You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Hoover also offers fly fishing, and you may bring your own fly gear if you want to, however, fly fishing gear is on hand on the boat as well.
Addicted to Scales and Tail are fun for all ages, so get 'em offline and onto the water! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Your boat for the day is a 24' Ranger Bay boat that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. It's never a bad idea to bring sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is not allowed.

My kiddos and I are avid fishermen and we really enjoy chartering trips whenever we teavel to any coast. This trip was by far one the best and most memorable we've ever had. We even decided to stick around for another night just to re-book with Captain Jaime. We were lucky he was available! His knowledge of the bay area coupled with his fishing experience kept us on plenty of hot action both nights. We caught several monster sized bulls and hit our limit on reds within the slot. We even had luck with a few trout. Captain Jaime is a fantastic guide who is excellent with kids and takes great pride in everything he does! He has the perfect flats boat and all of his fishing gear is in excellent condition. Being able to do the trips at night was a huge plus and a first for us. Kids and I can't wait to come back and book with Captain Jaime. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
We had a great day on the water. We did the 4 hour morning trip. Caught redfish, flounder, mangrove, and a stingray. We were a group consisting of 2 adults and 2 teenagers (16 & 13). Everyone caught fish and had an enjoyable experience. Jamie was a great guide. Very easy going, patient and knowledgeable. highly recommend. Will book again in the future.

My sister has had heartache recently. She came to visit and said all she wanted to do was a little fishing. One conversation with the captain of this boat and I signed her up. She had the best day and the first time I’ve seen her smile. My sister will give you her thoughts, but I I’m thrilled I sent her on this charter. My sister is visually impaired. I didn’t know if she would be able to do it..This man who runs this charter is absolutely phenomenal in every way! I will never look any further than what he has to offer to entertain company or especially family when Mhey visit and want to fish! .Thank you, Captain! (more than you can ever know) ❤️
