If you're ready to start fishing in the Outer Banks, we've got you covered with South Bound OBX Outfitters. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Christopher knows them forwards and back.
There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Flounder, Weakfish, Largemouth Bass, White Perch, Yellow Perch, Bull Shark, Sheepshead, Striped Bass, Bluefish, and more if conditions are right. Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Capt. Christopher is happy to have kids aboard, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your trip begins aboard a 20' KenCraft center console that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some bottled water on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Our boat is trailered, this allows different options depending on weather and where the fish are biting. Locations are Manteo, Manns Harbor and Stumpy Point.

They were not biting but we ended up with 25 stingray , 8 croaker and a shark ! so it was a great trip Captian chris had us on fish all morning ! My son and I decided we would do our first fishing charter this year for his college graduation. Captain Chris was great all the way around. we had hoped to catch some fish for dinner but they just were not biting, which happens. The weather leading yp to our trip was not great but we got great weather for the trip. Despite not catching dinner, Capt Chris found us something to catch, stingrays! We had a great time and could not recommend Capt Chris enough. Friendly, knowledgeable, and personable.

We had a wonderful experience on our fishing charter trip and really appreciated the care and effort put into the day. The owner was personable, kind, and very communicative, making everything easy and enjoyable from start to finish. He worked hard trying different fishing spots to give us the best experience possible. We even caught a couple bluefish and had a great time together as a family. We’d absolutely book another trip again and highly recommend this charter to others.

We had the best time fishing with Captain Chris! He was so nice, attentive, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. We are relatively new to fishing, and he was great at helping us along and making sure we were having fun and getting the most out of our time on the water. My daughter and I had such a great time and made some wonderful memories together. We absolutely loved the experience and would definitely go fishing with him again!

Captain Chris was helpful, down to earth and personable. He was incredibly accommodating to my wife’s inexperience and my experience in different kinds of fishing. He was a great teacher and helped us understand the fishing, the conditions, and even the culture of the Outer Banks, and never once had a whit of being condescending. All in all, the most genuine fishing guide that I have ever gone out with. Would recommend him to anyone and everyone.
