If you're ready to go fishing on Hilton Head Island, we've got you covered with Drifter Excursions. With Captain Robert at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands. Robert started working on the Drifter as a mate in 1983, got his captain's license in 1986, and has been at the helm ever since.

These waters are known for Blacktip Shark, Lemon Shark, Hammerhead Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Bull Shark, and more – with any luck, you'll have tight lines in no time, Depending on the tide, you might be fishing a deep hole or a shallow, creek by the marsh for a variety of sharks that are found in the waters of Hilton Head.

Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! The railings aboard the Drifter will keep everyone on board safe. Snacks, soft drinks, and bottled water are available for purchase but you may also bring your own cooler.

Capt. Robert welcomes you aboard a 60' Headboat with room for 30 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Robert will provide rods and reels for you.

There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 15–20% to show your appreciation.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. A few items to bring include sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

The entire family, including children ages 9-18, enjoyed our time on The Drifter. Five of the six children caught a shark so they enjoyed the time.

Captain Robert and Sawyer were spectacular. Our group caught several sharks and had an enjoyable time with a relaxed atmosphere. Jennifer was organized and spot on in helping us prepare and book the trip. Will definitely use again.

Ups and downs.
3 Hour Trip – Inshore on June 3, 20258 adults6 children
We had a great day out on the water, and the highlight of the trip was definitely Sawyer. He was incredibly helpful, friendly, and made the whole experience more fun and relaxed. Whether it was helping us with our gear or answering questions, he went above and beyond—such a great guy to have on board! That said, we were a bit disappointed when it came to the main event. We were really looking forward to seeing our kids sharks they caught on board, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. There wasn’t much communication about what we needed to do to make that possible, and by the time we found out, it was too late. It would’ve been nice to get a little more guidance upfront so we could’ve made the most of that moment. Overall, the day had its ups and downs, but Sawyer truly made it memorable. With a little more clear communication and friendliness from the captain, the experience could’ve been even better.

Thanks for coming out fishing with us. I'm glad Sawyer did a great job. Sorry he couldn't get any of the sharks onboard for a picture. They bite through sometimes but I am glad you caught and saw them. Thank you!
