Captain J's Charters is your ticket to the stunning waters of Panama City. With Captain 'J' at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.

Species like Amberjack, Bonito, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Gag Grouper, African Pompano Jack, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Wahoo, Gray Triggerfish, Spanish Mackerel, Red Snapper, Blacktip Shark, and more could be biting if you drop your line at the right time of year. On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

Trips with Captian J's Charters are fun for all ages, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!

Your fishing machine for the day is a 32' Bayliner 3218 Motor yacht with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is available upon request, for an additional fee.

There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

It's never a bad idea to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor. NO glass bottles.

The highlight of our PCB vacation!

4 Hour Trip – Bottom Fishing on June 27, 2025 • 3 adults

I booked this trip to get out into the ocean with my father and wife and try to catch some fish. None of us had ever fished in the ocean, and to say we had no idea what we were doing is an understatement.. However, the boys got us out on the water and put us on the fish! The patience of this team is worth noting, and the ability to teach some novices how things are done in the span of a few hours is very impressive! We had an amazing time, caught a bunch of fish, and crossed an item from our bucket lists. If you drink, ask about the “slippery mackerel” - you won’t regret it! 

Most of our catches were out of season, but that’s okay. That’s a matter of timing and no fault to the team. Getting them hooked and into the boat, albeit temporarily, was well worth the price of the trip!

An amazing experience none of us will soon forget. I can’t recommend these guys enough. If you’re thinking about it - just do it. It’s worth it!

Family Fishing Trip

My family and I had an amazing time fishing! The Captain and his crewmember was very friendly and made our experience wonderful. The boat was roomy which made it comfortable during our time fishing with 6 us. We were able to catch a nice amount of fish and that made the trip most memorable! I would definitely re book another trip with them on our future fishing trips during vacation. An extra plus was the below deck bathroom for the long day! We owe them a big thank you for making it a wonderful trip!

We caught trigger fish, grouper, snapper. Yes we caught everything we thought we was going too. The captain was very knowledgeable about everything and the first mate did amazing. Super nice and knew what he was doing. The trip was for fun. I would recommend the 4 hour trip to anyone.

Capt Jamey and Justin were awesome hosts and great guides- we caught our limit of grouper and hauled in many others including Spanish mackerel, trigger fish, and Red Snapper - enjoyed the slippery mackerel drink special on the way back
