We had an awesome day on Captain J’s fishing boat! Captain J knew exactly where to go and did a great job trolling for the fish, putting us right on the action. We caught Spanish mackerel, mahi mahi, and even landed a large tuna that made the trip unforgettable. Deckhand Drew was fantastic, hardworking, knowledgeable, and always ready to help with bait, tackle, and landing fish. The boat had a bathroom, which was a nice convenience, and the whole crew were great guys who made the trip fun from start to finish. If you’re looking for a great offshore fishing charter, I highly recommend Captain J’s and Deckhand Drew. We’ll definitely be back!

Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We caught a Benita Tuna fish, two Maui-mahi fish and multiple Trigger fish with one weighing about 10 or more pounds. We had a great time and would recommend this to anyone. We had three adults and two teenage boys and all of us enjoyed it.

We had a family of 6 including a 3 year old. All reeled in fish except one in our bunch. Caught red and black snapper, grouper, beeliner, and trigger fish. Captain and first mate were patient with our kids and very helpful. We had fun!

We had the best time today on our trip and caught a bunch of red snapper, grouper, trigger fish, and even a bonita tuna. Captain J and first mate Justin were awesome and very helpful!

We caught trigger fish, grouper, snapper. Yes we caught everything we thought we was going too. The captain was very knowledgeable about everything and the first mate did amazing. Super nice and knew what he was doing. The trip was for fun. I would recommend the 4 hour trip to anyone.

we caught a couple Mahi Mahi. and a mackerel that we kept. anda few we had to throw back due to regulations. Al in all we had lots of fun.

We attended this as a family trip, my boyfriend, my daughter, her friend (both teenage girls) and I. Jason was very helpful and eager to make sure we were catching fish. Sometimes he was more enthusiastic than us when we did catch fish which made it entertaining to listen to him. It was a bit choppy today and my daughter was nervous to grab onto something scared she was going to break it and Jason told her “everything in here is replaceable, while you are not” which was incredibly mindful. He was easy to talk to as was Captain J. My daughter and her friend aren’t ones for fishing so they decided to sit with the Captain. The two played games which he was willing to participate and joke along with them. My daughter had a camera, so her and her friend were constantly looking for things such as dolphins and every time he saw one he made sure to announce it. Both are easy to talk to and made you feel comfortable no matter if you’re interested in the fishing or not. Overall this was a great experience and we would definitely choose Captain J Charters and Jason again. Thank you so much Captain J and Jason.

I booked this fishing charter somewhat last minute for myself, my two sons and two of their friends. The boys were all aged 13 to 18. Captain J picked us up at the pier and Panama City, which made it a shorter drive from Mexico Beach. He really knows these waters and how to put us over top of fish and keep the boat there. Jason was fantastic, untangling lines, keeping lines, baited, and assisting the boys with general fishing guidance, and sharing his experiences in the Coast Guard. Even though we booked a four hr bottom fishing in the gulf trip, we had time to do a little trolling on the way out, and Captain J gave us almost 5 hours by the time we returned to the dock, since he didn’t have an afternoon trip scheduled. Super generous and we enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommend this charter and look forward to going out with them again!
