Species like Amberjack, Bonito, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Gag Grouper, African Pompano Jack, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Wahoo, Gray Triggerfish, Spanish Mackerel, Red Snapper, Blacktip Shark, and more could be biting if you drop your line at the right time of year. On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Trips with Captian J's Charters are fun for all ages, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 32' Bayliner 3218 Motor yacht with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is available upon request, for an additional fee.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's never a bad idea to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor. NO glass bottles.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable fishing trip in Panama City Beach, I highly recommend Captain J Fishing Charters! Captain J and the crew were friendly, professional, and worked hard from the moment we left the dock to keep us on the fish. We had an incredible day on the water, catching Spanish mackerel, bonita. The action was nonstop, and the crew made sure everyone had a great time by helping with bait, untangling lines, and making sure we landed our fish. You can tell they know these waters and genuinely want their customers to have a successful trip. We ended the trip with an awesome catch that included blackfin tuna, Spanish mackerel. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making the entire experience enjoyable. Whether you’re an experienced fisherman or it’s your first offshore trip, I highly recommend Captain J Fishing Charters. Professional, friendly, and dedicated to making sure you have a successful day on the water. We’ll definitely be booking another trip the next time we’re in Panama City!
We had an awesome day on Captain J’s fishing boat! Captain J knew exactly where to go and did a great job trolling for the fish, putting us right on the action. We caught Spanish mackerel, mahi mahi, and even landed a large tuna that made the trip unforgettable. Deckhand Drew was fantastic, hardworking, knowledgeable, and always ready to help with bait, tackle, and landing fish. The boat had a bathroom, which was a nice convenience, and the whole crew were great guys who made the trip fun from start to finish. If you’re looking for a great offshore fishing charter, I highly recommend Captain J’s and Deckhand Drew. We’ll definitely be back!

It was a tough time in the water for catches but the captain and first mate pulled out every trick they possibly could. It was a great experience for the kids, we enjoyed the boat!
we caught a couple Mahi Mahi. and a mackerel that we kept. anda few we had to throw back due to regulations. Al in all we had lots of fun.
We had a great time, great people, Captain knew the waters and first mate was very engaging with the kids and we all learned a ton.
