Depending on conditions, and what you want to chase you might hook into Muskellunge (Musky), Walleye, Northern Pike, Sunfish, Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, and whatever else is biting.
Mega Muskies Guide Service is a child-friendly charter service, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Don’t forget to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 20’ Skeeter WXR2060 that holds up to 4 or 5 passengers or a Lund 1825 Pro Guide that can hold 2-3 depending on how you will be fishing that day. They come with everything you need for a productive day on the water.
We will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is available depending upon time of year and species you are chasing.
Before coming aboard, you must buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This is available online, or you can ask Dakota or Justin. Some species may be out of season, feel free to reach out if you are wondering what is in season.
Some essentials to bring are bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

My 18 yr old granddaughter was amazed at the live scope and Justin was explaining it to her. She only caught 1 Pike and I caught nothing. We had a great time and Justin was very good at guiding us on how to fish for Muskies. My granddaughter said she learned a lot from Justin and wants to go again, so I will book another trip. Thanks Justin for a great Grandpa, granddaughter day. See you soon

Dakota patiently explained and demonstrated casting techniques and gave Brady time to practice. Dakota also taught Brady what to look for on the fish finder. We spotted musky in the morning, missed one mid-day and after seven hours, Brady reeled in his first musky. He was so excited that day and the excitement continued days later. We had an amazing day.

Full Day Trip With Dakota S. on July 29, 2024My son is 12yrs old and loves fishing. He’s caught pretty much every species of fish in MN, but the elusive Muskie. Well Dakota saw to it that my son would catch his first Muskie. Not 30min into the trip, we had a Muskie in the boat. My son has been bouncing off the walls with excitement ever since. Dakota knew the lake structure and exactly where to fish. When it got too hot outside, we took a few hour break and went back out to a different lake where we nailed some nice fish Walleye, Northerns, Largemouth and the biggest sunnies we’ve seen. Dakota is amazing around kids (and adults). I highly recommend his guide services. Plan on learning a lot.

Full Day Trip With Dakota S. on June 20, 2025 • 2 adults • 1 childTook my son and niece out for some walleye action. He put us on them and was a kind mentor to the kids as they figured it out. Switched to Muskie and was patient with me. 3 follows and one that got off at the net. My fault as I tried to lift the fish into the net. A few cuss words and kind instruction on my mistake and then back to it. Highly recommended!!!

I took my 7- and 9-year-old fishing with Dakota, and we had such a great experience! The weather forecast was a little ominous, and he was incredibly accommodating about adjusting our schedule and taking us out earlier. He found an amazing spot where the sunfish were practically jumping out of the water, and my kids had the best time reeling in fish after fish. They absolutely loved it. We would 100% book with Dakota again!
Scheduled an afternoon trip with Dakota, but pushed it to a night trip for better weather and promising fishing conditions. He put us on active fish the whole night and we ended with 5 in the boat over 40" and three or four more hard bites. Great gear and organization, very knowledgeable on fish habits, and cares for the fish and fisherman. I look forward to another trip with Mega Muskies in the future.
