Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Lake Trout, Brown Trout, and who knows what else!
On these trips, trolling is the most common and effective way to catch fish.
Young ones are welcome, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Two child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your adventure begins aboard a 25' Proline Cuddy cabin with room for 3 passengers. The boat is designed to handle off-shore fishing in Lake Michigan. Its equipt with state-of-the art Simrad fishfinder/chart plotter, autopilot, electric downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Captain Karl will supply rods and reels for you, as well as all the necessary tackle.
Before coming aboard, you need to buy a Illinois fishing license with a salmon stamp for everyone on board. You can purchase one online.
It's recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask.

Captain Karl was the highlight of the trip. Great boat, awesome guy, plenty of fish. I've been on day trips like this all over and this is as good as any. Captain Karl knew exactly where to take us. Great gear, and a great experience. I'll be booking with Captain Karl again. My son had a blast. Can't wait to get out again!
One of the best guided trips we ever been. From boat, to captain, equipment, catches and weather all was fantastic. Using his knowledge of the local waters and real time updates from his network of boats on the water, Captain Karl kept us on the fish, with the right bait, at the right depth & presentation most of the day. If you want to learn trolling(like me) or you simply want to have a great fishing day, I highly recommend Captain Karl. Thank you !
Went on a trip with me and two other buddies. Neither of us had much experience at all, but Capt. Carl showed us the ropes paired with a great time. The experience exceeded expectations and was a great time. I would highly recommend booking and giving this trip a shot. Would definitely love to do it again some time. Best pricing around as well!

CPT Karl was polite, accommodating, and well prepared. He communicated with the fishing community throughout the week and had a game plan. Within minutes of putting the rods out we were getting bites. We pretty much hit the limit within a few hours. P.S. This was the second time we've been out with him. Planning to go with him again later this summer
