If fishing in Gulfport is on your bucket list, look no further than Captain Ron’s Charters. With Captain Ron at the helm, you’ll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.

Species like Redfish, Black Drum, Blacktip Shark, Bull Shark, Cobia, Weakfish, and more inhabit these waters if you come at the right time of year. You’ll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Trips with Captain Ron’s Charters are kid-friendly, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You’re welcome to bring snacks!

Capt. Ron operates a 30’ Island Hopper sportfishing vessel with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Ron will provide rods and reels for you. Live bait is on offer, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.

There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

A few items to bring include bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
