These waters are known for Black Drum, Cobia, Ladyfish, Atlantic Mackerel, Redfish, Blacktip Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Bull Shark, Hammerhead Shark, Lemon Shark, Thresher Shark, Tiger Shark, and more – with any luck, they'll make your reel scream. On these trips, you can expect to troll using heavy tackle.
You're free to keep some of the fish you catch, assuming they meet regulations. Catch cleaning is available, so you can take your fish home to eat. Pack a cooler ready in the car!
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Your boat for the day is a 39' Custom Crusader Downeast with space for 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Lew Childre has rods and reels for you.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't leave home without a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had! This shark charter was everything we hoped for and more. The captain and his deckhand were absolutely hilarious—kept us laughing the entire trip while still running things like total pros. Their knowledge really showed—they knew exactly where to go and what to do to get us on the sharks. It was a super successful trip, and the excitement never stopped! My family had a great time and look forward to going again in the future. The Captain and crew made us feel like family. I had my five year old daughter with us and felt like she was completely safe the entire time. Would highly recommend anyone thinking about it to go for it.
