Spend the day with Combat Fishing and see what's biting in beautiful Panama City Beach.
These waters are known for Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Snowy Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Bull Shark, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Gray Triggerfish, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some.
On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using heavy tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing for the ones that are certified. Feel free to ask any questions. You will be responsible for all of your own equipment. Dive at your own risk Free-diving or Scuba!!!
Capt. John believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Capt. John will bring you aboard a 28' Mako center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water.
Capt. John will provide rods and reels for you, along with lures. If the bait man is not open or sold out, you'll be catching it yourself just outside the jetties or on your way out to sea.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. The captain will be happy to help you follow regulations while you fish.
A few items to bring include sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We booked a deep-sea fishing trip for my husband’s birthday, and wow—what an adventure! Capt. John told me he would make the day extra special since it was his birthday, but I never imagined just how amazing it would be. We had beautiful sunshine all day, but Mother Nature definitely kept things exciting with 7-foot waves rocking us from start to finish! We got absolutely soaked on the ride out, while fishing, and on the ride back—but honestly, it just added to the fun and made the day even more memorable. Capt. John and Jackson worked hard all day helping us catch fish and making sure everyone had a great time. Thanks to their expertise, we landed several Red Snapper, Lane Snapper, Triggerfish, and Grouper. It was nonstop action and excitement! Despite the rough seas, Capt. John did an outstanding job navigating the boat and keeping us safe while putting us on the fish. Jackson was fantastic as well—always ready to help, encourage, and keep the good times rolling. We definitely got our money’s worth and then some. The fishing was great, the crew was amazing, and the memories we made are priceless. This was one of the most fun birthday celebrations we’ve ever had. Thank you, Capt. John and Jackson, for giving my husband a birthday he’ll never forget. We will absolutely be booking another trip with Combat Fishing Company! We limited on vermillion snapper in about an hour. Great guys and would absolutely fish with them again. They handled our full group really well, we had a range of experience fishing, from none to regulars. They handled us all well and kept us catching.

We caught more than enough fish for the 5 of us and we all had a great time. It was also a great trip because he didnt just talk about fishing and stay quite the entire time he talked to all of us and made us feel like friends throwin out jokes and such and it was a great time i totally recommend booking with Captain John!

My son got 2 on one line which made his day. Plenty to eat tonight. Captain was knowledgeable about how to cook and eat what we were catching and helped us clean them for how we wanted to enjoy them. Nice crew will look up next year.

4 Hour Trolling Trip - 12:00 PM on July 10, 2026 • 3 adultsTook my 2 sons, Capt asked if we wanted redfish or troll. We chose to try reds even though Capt hadn’t done it in a minute. We caught 13 total, 3 too big and 10 keepers but limit was 4 so we got to keep the biggies and put small ones back. Really fun 4-hour trip! Highly recommend.

Full Day Trip on June 9, 2026 • 4 adultswe all had a blast, weather couldn't have been better, we caught all sorts of fish like snapper, grouper, Bonita, trigger fish, and others, by the time we were heading home all 4 of us were barely able to lift our arms. highly recommend booking with capt John as I will be in the future.

The guys were great and we'd highly recommend! They gave us options on what we wanted to fish for and we didn't fish anywhere that there were not fish immediately. We caught I'm guessing 50 fish and several times caught two fish on a line at one time. Great service, great conversations, very comfortable and like we told them, we don't judge a trip based on catching fish or not catching fish. If you do, double check yourself and appreciate the tranquility and time with friends/family as what it's all about. Fish or no fish, it's a gift most of us don't get every day. The icing on the cake was catching more fish than we've ever caught on any family fishing trip. We will be back this summer to snapper fish and can't wait to spend more time slaying it with Combat Fishing!

Captain John and deck hand Jackson are great. we had 4 kids with us ages 9-12, and they were very patient and helped the boys out. They also answered the million and one questions the kids had and shared cool facts about the fish. Captain put us right on the fish, and we got a good batch to take home. Weather was a little rough, but Captain John did an amazing job navigating the water for an enjoyable ride. 10 out of 10 recommend.
