Best three hours of our entire Alaska trip. Every single person in our group caught a fish, and we landed somewhere between 10 and 12 total with 6 keepers. Kyle knows exactly where to put you. The fishing was only half of it. Kyle is personable, full of great stories, and he read our group perfectly. One person hauled in a monster, the very next one reeled up a baby, and he turned it into a running joke we were still laughing about hours later. Nobody wanted it to end. Every one of us got off the boat saying we wished we had booked a longer trip. The thing that stuck with me most, though, is who Kyle is off the water. Ketchikan recently lost two schools, which left a lot of local parents without childcare or education options. Kyle is working on opening a daycare to fill that gap, and he is taking no salary to do it, just so there is somewhere for young kids in his community to go. You do not run into that very often. Book with Kyle. Great captain, better guy.

Captain Kyle delivered an absolute 5-star (honestly 10-star) experience! We went out on a salmon charter as a family of five—with kids ages 14, 8, and 6—and had an incredible time from start to finish. He had us on fish within minutes, and we ended up catching our limit! We’ve been on many charters over the years, and this was hands down the best one yet. Captain Kyle was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly knows exactly where the fish are. He made the whole trip fun, easy, and memorable for everyone—kids included. This trip was the cherry on top of our 2-week dream vacation to Alaska. If you’re considering a charter, don’t hesitate—book with Captain Kyle. You won’t regret it!

Party of 5. Kids as young as 5 and 2 adults. We got off the cruise ship and rolled via Sourdough Cab right to the dock. Sourdough has an app and was right there meeting us at the cruise. We showed up 10 minutes early and Kyle was right there ready to go. Fishing within 20 minutes of leaving the dock. Kyle had us on schools of pink salmon and king salmon right away. We landed 12 pink salmon and probably just as many kings. Had one king keeper. We are keeping the fish and he works with people who will take care of everything. Kyle is a great guy who is great with the kids, has everything ready to go and got us on some good fish right away. This is a great way to get in a really good short fishing trip and Kyle is your guy.

We had an amazing day fishing with Captain Kyle in Ketchikan! If you're looking for someone who will teach your kids the importance of respecting the fishery, following the regulations, and properly measuring fish, he's the perfect guide. We caught so many fish throughout the day. Many were under the legal size limit and had to be released, but that actually made the experience even more exciting because we were constantly catching fish. Captain Kyle took the time to explain why certain fish needed to be released, making it a great learning experience for my grandson. Don't get me wrong—we still came home with a cooler FULL of fish, so we definitely were NOT disappointed! It was refreshing to spend the day with someone who truly respects the fishery while making sure everyone has an incredible time. We highly recommend Captain Kyle to anyone looking for a fun, educational, and memorable fishing trip in Ketchikan! Thanks again Kyle!

I was a little nervous when I first made the reservation because it wasn’t through my cruise line. I’ve always wanted to fish in Alaska for salmon. I paid to fee myself because I’m traveling alone and it was just a wonderful day out of the water with Kyle took a while to get on some fish but when we did, we got on fish I strongly recommend him as a Fishing Guide.
