Excited to cast a line in Steinhatchee? LFG Fishing Charters – 22ft Pontoon is your ticket! Your guide for the day is Captain Randy, which allows you to benefit from years of angling experience.
Scallop, Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Flounder, Black Seabass, and more can be found in these waters, depending on conditions. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Capt. Randy will bring you aboard a 22' Pontoon that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
You can't go wrong when you bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

He went above and beyond by considering the age of our children and put us in water that was safer for them. He handled all the equipment and had everything ready to go for us. All the equipment (snorkeling gear, boat, etc.) was is great condition. He even thought to take family pictures for us and shared them. We would highly recommend this charter for first time scallopers. We look forward to coming back for another trip soon!

Full Day Trip – Scalloping on June 17, 2026 • 6 adultsOur family of 6 spent a great day out on the gulf catching scallops with Captain Randy and his crew. The captain and crew were very engaging and made sure everyone was having a good time, the boat was comfortable and in good repair and we caught scallops. My daughter summed it up best when she said “It didnt feel like we hired a guide, it felt like we spent the day hanging out with friends”. I would highly recommend the experience.

Half Day Scalloping (am trip) - 1:00 PM on August 24, 2025 • 2 adultsWe had a great time with Captain Randy and Captain Chad on our scallop charter! They were super knowledgeable and were happy to give us tips- with their help, we were able to limit out on scallops. We also brought our 1.5-year-old and they were so welcoming and good with him too, they let him “help” sort the scallops and he loved it! The pontoon boat was also really nice with a bimini top for some much-needed shade, live wells to keep everything fresh, and plenty of places to sit. We will definitely be back next year!

Full Day Trip – Fishing on March 29, 2025 • 5 adultsI wanna start this review off by mentioning that I called Captain Chad at almost 7pm the night before to schedule this fishing trip. This was a complete spur of the moment/ last minute idea. Even with an incredibly short notice Captain Chad and first mate absolutely put us on the fish!!! This is a very well ran operation! The boat and fishing equipment was top notch as well as the Captain and his wonderful first mate! They both went above and beyond and I 10/10 recommend Captain Chad with LFG fishing charters. Thank you for the amazing memories.

Chad and his wife were the best! They took us and 4 of our kids out. We could relax and actually scallop. They took pictures for us and even MOM got to be in the pictures! Would give them 10 stars if we could. If you want a hassle free good time.. LFG!

This charter is excellent for a family with young kids and teens. Captains Randy and Chad are kind, easy-going, and flexible. After catching several types of fish, we decided to let the kids jump in to get some scallops. They took us to a great shallow spot, and the whole family had a blast. This is our second year with them, and we will be back again!!

When you haven't done something before, you don't know what to expect. For us that didn't matter because the Cap'n & crew knew where to go how to scallop and they assisted us with everything we needed them to. The LFG guys are very friendly and professional. Would definitely book with them again.
