Our Charter service has been voted 'Best Fishing Charter Service' for 26 years. Featured on ESPN, we contribute to the local fishing derbies, and we are a big supporter of the veterans and all emergency & first responders.

In early May we start fishing the Knik River for King Salmon. The Knik River is the only river in Alaska's Matanuska Valley that allows the use of Salmon eggs for bait during King Salmon season. We meet at multiple locations based on fishing conditions & regulations. From 35 min - 2 hours north of Anchorage. Sockeye Salmon start arriving the first week of July followed by the Silver Salmon.
►►Please keep in mind that the location for the meeting point can change up to the day prior to your fishing trip. Departure time is approximate and will change during different fishing seasons and daylight hours.

Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! You'll be fishing aboard a 24' Sea Ark Aluminum fishing skiff with space for 6 passengers. No need to bring any equipment. Each fishing charter comes fully equipped with everything you need. So the only thing you'll have to bring is your fishing license (a King Salmon stamp is also needed when fishing through mid-July), food & drink. Also, filleting your fish is included and your guide will put it in bags for you to take home or to a processor for packaging and shipping.

We suggest bringing sunscreen, a camera, a hat, sunglasses, drinks, and food.

Unforgettable Experience
Private ½ Day Trip @ 10 AM 5 hrs on May 26, 20262 adults
We had an amazing time. Our captain, Jerry, was fun and personable. The location was stunning. Our captain shared fascinating information about the wildlife and brought binoculars that allowed us to get up close with an eagles nest. Of course it would have been nice to catch a fish but tides were very low and it was super early in the season so we didn’t have high expectations. We loved the experience and would definitely do it again.

We’re thrilled to hear you had such an amazing time with Captain Terry. He loves making each trip fun, personal, and informative, so it means a lot to know that his wildlife knowledge and those binocular views of the eagle’s nest made the experience extra special. While the fishing can definitely be affected by low tides and the early season, we’re so glad you came in with the right expectations and still had a great time on the water. We’d love to have you back again for another adventure!

Best Experience!
½ Day Trip @ 430 AM 5 hrs on August 19, 20252 adults
For years, if not decades, I always told my friends I would love to go to Alaska and pull a nice salmon out of the river. Our great fishing guide, Jeremey, made it happen! He was the best. He created a friendly atmosphere from the start. We really enjoyed his company, his fishing knowledge, history of the area, and great stories. Our main reason to visit Alaska was to run in the Anchorage marathon on the previous Sunday, which we did. But the trip's main event was our fishing experience. My wife has limited experience fishing, especially from a boat, and was a little apprehensive before we went. But the end of the week, she said it was the best adventure we did, and that's thanks to Jeremy!

We're thrilled to hear that your long-awaited Alaskan fishing adventure lived up to your expectations and that Jeremy played such an important role in making it memorable. It's fantastic that he provided not only expert guidance but also a welcoming atmosphere and engaging stories to enhance your trip. We're especially glad your wife enjoyed the adventure, even with limited fishing experience. Knowing it became the highlight of your Alaska visit means a lot to us. Congratulations on completing the Anchorage marathon as well—that’s an impressive achievement! We hope you’ll come back for more fishing and exploration in the future. Tight lines until next time!

10/10 Experience!
Private ½ Day Trip @ 10 AM 5 hrs on July 17, 20252 adults
Went salmon fishing with my brother-in-law on Fisherman’s Choice Charters and it was hands-down one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The captain was incredible—a fun, local guy who clearly loves what he does and has a way of turning a great day into an unforgettable one. His humor, energy, and passion for fishing took the experience to the next level. The scenery, the thrill of the catch, and the overall vibe made it a day we’ll never forget. I’d repeat this trip hundreds of times over. Couldn’t recommend Fisherman’s Choice more—if you’re thinking about booking, just do it. You won’t regret it!

Great trip
½ day trip @ 10 AM 5 hrs on August 22, 20252 adults
Met Jeremy at the Knik River access. Easy to find. Jeremy and his first mate Stormy introduced themselves to us right away and immediately made us feel like family. While only one fish was caught it was an amazing experience that we’ll never forget. Jeremy had plenty of stories and jokes that made the fishing trip almost seem secondary. The surrounding scenery, the guide and the first mate made the trip memorable. Highly highly recommend. I’ll upload photos of the first mate

We’re so grateful for your kind words and your recommendation. Stormy always loves making new friends! Hope to see you again soon for another Alaskan adventure!
