For 26 years, our charter has been recognized as a Best Fishing Charter Service, featured on ESPN, and rooted in the local community. We’re proud to support area fishing derbies, veterans, emergency personnel, and first responders.
Our King Salmon season typically begins in early May on the Knik River—the only river in Alaska’s Matanuska Valley where salmon eggs may be used as bait during King Salmon season. Meeting locations are chosen based on current fishing conditions and regulations and may be anywhere from about 35 minutes to 2 hours north of Anchorage. Sockeye Salmon usually begin arriving in early July, followed by Silver Salmon later in the season.
Please note that meeting locations may change as late as the day before your trip, and departure times can vary depending on the season, daylight, and fishing conditions.
Families are welcome, and kids can join the adventure. You’ll fish from a 24-foot Sea Ark aluminum skiff with space for up to 6 passengers. All fishing gear is provided. Just bring your fishing license, a King Salmon stamp if you’re fishing through mid-July, and your own food and drinks.
After the trip, your guide will clean, fillet, and bag your catch so you can take it home or send it to a processor for packaging and shipping.
We recommend bringing:

Sunscreen
Camera
Hat
Sunglasses
Food and drinks

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children throughout the trip. Guides are happy to assist and provide instruction, but they are not able to supervise children. Thank you for helping us keep the experience safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone.

The Highlight of our Alaska Trip
Private ½ Day Trip @ 430 AM 5 hrs on July 24, 20264 adults2 children

Our family had an amazing time fishing the Knik River. The scenery was absolutely spectacular, and the experience was one we’ll always remember. Addyson was thrilled to catch a salmon, which made the trip even more special. Captain did an outstanding job taking care of our family, making everyone feel comfortable, and putting us on the fish. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better day on the water. Thank you for an unforgettable Alaska experience. Highly recommend!

I am very pleased to hear that the scenery, the fishing, and Addyson’s salmon made the experience such a memorable part of your Alaska trip. I truly appreciate your kind words and recommendation, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of your family’s visit. I hope to welcome you back on the water again in the future. —Capt. Ray

Got skunked…but had fun!
½ Day Trip @ 430 AM (Shared) 5 hrs on July 16, 20262 adults2 children

Our guide, Doug, was excellent. Super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and generally an awesome guy. The weather and scenery made the day worth it, even though we didn’t land a fish. Had a few nibbles and one on the line that got away. Based on everything I read/saw prior to booking, I’d never believe we wouldn’t catch a boatload of fish if you’d have told me that ahead of time, but here we are. No regrets!!!

Response from Charter operator

Thank you so much for fishing with us, Jake! We’re really glad to hear you still had a fun day on the water, even though the fish didn’t cooperate. Doug will truly appreciate your kind words — he takes a lot of pride in making each trip enjoyable, helpful, and memorable no matter what the bite is doing. We definitely wish we could guarantee a boatload every time, but that’s fishing! We appreciate your great attitude and your “no regrets” perspective, and we’d love the chance to get you back out there for some redemption next time.

Fun day out on the water!
½ day trip @ 10 AM (Shared) 5 hrs on July 10, 20262 adults

Even though we didn't catch any fish, other people on the boat did (Including a massive King Salmon!!), which is awesome since we were fishing towards the tailend of the season, our guide was friendly and had some fun stories to share with us. Overall I would go out again when the salmon were running a little earlier.

Thank you so much, Olivia! We’re glad you had a fun day out on the water with us, even if the fish didn’t cooperate for everyone. Seeing that massive King Salmon come aboard was definitely a highlight! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the guide’s stories and the overall experience, and we’d love to have you back when the salmon are running strong for an even better shot at landing one yourself!

Awesome captain for family with kids
½ day trip @ 10 AM (Shared) 5 hrs on August 17, 20251 adult1 child

I took my six year old son on the knik river salmon fishing and we had a great time. Not only we caught a fish, we had a good time on the boat chatting with the captain, playing with the first mate(captain’s dog Stormy) and spotting wild animals- we saw a bald eagle up close at a fishing spot for quite some time. Jeremy was so great with my son and he even let my son help him with the anchoring and drive the boat on our way back. He is kind and patient all the time. I would highly recommend him to anyone who’d like to try salmon fishing in this area.

We're thrilled to hear that you and your son had such a memorable day, from catching salmon to enjoying the company of Captain Jeremy and Stormy. It sounds like your adventure was filled with special moments, and we're glad Jeremy made your trip so enjoyable and inclusive for your son. Spotting a bald eagle up close must have been incredible! We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for more fishing adventures in the future.

Hi Matthew, thank you for taking the time to share your review and for fishing with us today. We’re glad to hear you had a good overall experience and that Doug handled the tough weather conditions with care and good judgment. Stormy, rainy, and cold conditions can definitely make fishing challenging, and we appreciate your understanding that some days the bite is simply tougher than others. We’re happy Doug was attentive to the group and made sure everyone was comfortable with the decision to head in a little early. We’d be glad to have you back out again and hope next time brings brighter skies, warmer weather, and better fishing.
