4.4/5 (37 reviews)

For 26 years, our charter has been recognized as a Best Fishing Charter Service, featured on ESPN, and rooted in the local community. We’re proud to support area fishing derbies, veterans, emergency personnel, and first responders.
Our King Salmon season typically begins in early May on the Knik River—the only river in Alaska’s Matanuska Valley where salmon eggs may be used as bait during King Salmon season. Meeting locations are chosen based on current fishing conditions and regulations and may be anywhere from about 35 minutes to 2 hours north of Anchorage. Sockeye Salmon usually begin arriving in early July, followed by Silver Salmon later in the season.
Please note that meeting locations may change as late as the day before your trip, and departure times can vary depending on the season, daylight, and fishing conditions.
Families are welcome, and kids can join the adventure. You’ll fish from a 24-foot Sea Ark aluminum skiff with space for up to 6 passengers. All fishing gear is provided. Just bring your fishing license, a King Salmon stamp if you’re fishing through mid-July, and your own food and drinks.
After the trip, your guide will clean, fillet, and bag your catch so you can take it home or send it to a processor for packaging and shipping.
We recommend bringing:

Sunscreen
Camera
Hat
Sunglasses
Food and drinks

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children throughout the trip. Guides are happy to assist and provide instruction, but they are not able to supervise children. Thank you for helping us keep the experience safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone.

Awesome captain for family with kids
½ day trip @ 10 AM (Shared) 5 hrs on August 17, 20251 adult1 child

I took my six year old son on the knik river salmon fishing and we had a great time. Not only we caught a fish, we had a good time on the boat chatting with the captain, playing with the first mate(captain’s dog Stormy) and spotting wild animals- we saw a bald eagle up close at a fishing spot for quite some time. Jeremy was so great with my son and he even let my son help him with the anchoring and drive the boat on our way back. He is kind and patient all the time. I would highly recommend him to anyone who’d like to try salmon fishing in this area.

Reported catch:
Salmon
Response from Captain

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience on the Knik River! We're thrilled to hear that you and your son had such a memorable day, from catching salmon to enjoying the company of Captain Jeremy and Stormy. It sounds like your adventure was filled with special moments, and we're glad Jeremy made your trip so enjoyable and inclusive for your son. Spotting a bald eagle up close must have been incredible! We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for more fishing adventures in the future.

A Blast with Jeremy
½ day trip @ 10 AM (Shared) 5 hrs on June 16, 20262 adults

Our guide Jeremy was awesome, with knowledge of the river, and use of bait. The views are incredible, we even saw a bald eagle and seagull fight! Even though we didn’t catch any fish, we still had a great time with wonderful people.

He really knows the river and how to make the most of the experience, and we’re glad his knowledge helped make your trip memorable. The scenery and wildlife out there are incredible, and spotting a bald eagle and seagull fight must have been amazing to see! Even though the fish didn’t cooperate this time, we’re so happy you still had a wonderful outing with great people. We’d love to welcome you back again soon!
