Mid-July–the end of season we target coho, sockeye, chum and pink (meeting 30-90 min north of Anchorage) After the 3rd week of August, (meeting 30 min- 2 hours north of Anchorage) many salmon are spawning or have spawned; they stop feeding and their bodies break down leaving their meat less than desirable. The weather and scenery made the day worth it, even though we didn’t land a fish. Had a few nibbles and one on the line that got away. Based on everything I read/saw prior to booking, I’d never believe we wouldn’t catch a boatload of fish if you’d have told me that ahead of time, but here we are. No regrets!!!

Not only we caught a fish, we had a good time on the boat chatting with the captain, playing with the first mate(captain’s dog Stormy) and spotting wild animals- we saw a bald eagle up close at a fishing spot for quite some time. Jeremy was so great with my son and he even let my son help him with the anchoring and drive the boat on our way back. He is kind and patient all the time. I would highly recommend him to anyone who’d like to try salmon fishing in this area.

Trip for Kevin on June 15, 2025 • 6 adultsGreat experience. I initially booked the wrong date by accident. They worked with me and got everything set up with no extra cost. Our captain, Doug, was very helpful. He gave great instructions when we hooked up to make sure we could land our fish. One of our group had only fished once in her life and netted a nice King Salmon. Catching a fish is never guaranteed but we all put a big one in the boat. Great company and a great captain. Will definitely go out again when we return next year.

Even though we didn't catch any fish, other people on the boat did (Including a massive King Salmon!!), which is awesome since we were fishing towards the tailend of the season, our guide was friendly and had some fun stories to share with us. Overall I would go out again when the salmon were running a little earlier.

Ray was awesome even though the fish weren’t biting but thats fishing. seeing the mother bear and 2 cubs standing on their hind legs, seeing the piebald moose and her newborn calf trying to climb the riverbank and seeing the eagles made it very memorable! thanks for the memories
