Fintimidator Sportfishing is a great choice for fishing in the stunning waters of Hampton and surrounding areas. Your guide for the day is Captain Melvin, bringing aboard a lifetime of fishing experience.
These waters hold game fish like Cobia, Sheepshead, Tautog, Black/Red Drum, Bluefish, Spanish Mackeral more, depending on the season. For these species, you’re likely sight fish, troll and bottom fish using light tackle.
Trips with Fintimidator Sportfishing are open to the whole family, so go ahead and bring the family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You’ll be welcome aboard a 24’ Wellcraft Coastal walkaround that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Melvin will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
A few items to bring include sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Best in the business!
Captain Melvin is pure class! From the minute we parked our car he came out to greet us and was ready to start catchin’! No time was wasted setting up or prepping bait. He knew we were coming and he was ready! As soon as we hit the water we went straight to fishing! He was super attentive, friendly, and genuinely wanted us to have a good time. The minute the bite slowed down, he’d look for the next spot. His goal was that we fill our bags, and eventually our stomachs, with fish! Regardless of what we did or did not catch, I can genuinely say this was the best customer service I’ve ever had on a fishing boat! I’d recommend Fintimidator to anyone and will definitely return to this boat! Bonus: the owner at the bait & tackle shop was awesome too!

booked a reef fishing trip with capt Melvin. had to reschedule two times due to the weather, but capt stayed in contact with us. finally got on the water and the weather did not cooperate. capt made a change and got us in calmer waters, catching spots and trout. i highly recommend this charter. dont forget to ask capt about the jolly ranchers!

From communication beginning to end - Melvin was a solid captain (with really good jokes) & fit right in with our small group. He was amazing at helping with reloading our bait, knowledgeable on the fish we caught, & even helped teach us how to reel in our bigger catches that put up a fight. He knew where to go, & we just overall had an amazing time. Thank you SO much Mel for making this birthday celebration a good time. We appreciate you so much.

Evening Fishing Trip
After 2 days of offshore blowouts a couple of friends and decided to book with Captain Melvin. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the waters and various types of fishing and he helped us to enjoy a few hours on the water which helps to save our second day in the area. I would recommend him for either the cruise or the fishing. He's a people person and you would enjoy just being with him and it's sharing experience him.

Great Day on the Water!
Book a trip with Captain Melvin, he was very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. He put us on fish in windy unfavorable conditions. We left with plenty of fish to eat, he let us run his crabline and keep the blue crabs, we had a hell of a dinner with fresh crabs and fish we caught! We are going to book a longer trip for shark the next time. Captain Melvin is the GOAT 🐐
