Trips with ZD Fishing Guide are great for kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your vessel for the day is either a 22' Lowe Deck boat or an 18" Tracker V Hull. They have all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Zachary will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures.
Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had such a good time! It was me, my husband and my dad. This was their Father’s Day present. We caught about a hundred catfish and bass and kept 70! All 3 of us had 2 lures each on our lines and we were literally catching 2 at a time while we were “jigging”. One time all 3 of us caught 2 fish each all at the same time! 6 fish at once! That was crazy fun. Captain Zach knows where the fish are! He worked so hard and took such good care of my Dad, “Pops”. He took care of all 3 of us but taking such good care of my Dad won my heart. I actually learned a ton and I’ve fished on and off my whole life. He had all of the equipment and then some. I know we’ll do this again. My husband is already talking about a corporate trip and our friends were so jelly they want us to take them too lol. We really had a great time and Captain Zach is low key hilarious so I was giggling the whole time. I could keep going but I think thats plenty. I’ll save some words for my next review. Thank you Captain Zach for making it so much fun!
Hit a packed, sweltering lake on the 4th of July with four of us. Honestly, with the holiday crowds, we just wanted a decent day. Zach gave us a great morning, hunting down about 25 keepers. But then he had a hunch to circle back to our very first stop. Bam. Instant chaos. Every single one of us got double-pulls at the exact same time. In a matter of minutes, Zach turned a "pretty good holiday weekend" into an absolute slaughter. If you want a guide who can read a lake like a book, book Zach. 10/10.
A very personable and adaptive guide, Captain Zach adapts to the needs of your group. If you want to talk, he's an interesting, intelligent and fun guy to interact with. The accuracy of his spots was insane! No breaks because we were catching fish non-stop. If we had 2 minutes without fish, he had us back on game within seconds. 5 star character, 5 star guide, we will return but only if we can get Zach again! Top notch!!!
Zach was awesome with the boys. He kept all the lines baited and help them bring in their catch. Mom and Dad were able to sit back and chill
Had an awesome time fishing with Zach! He was professional without being boring. Super easy to get along with, great personality, and incredibly patient. We ended up catching over 50 catfish, which made for an unforgettable day on the water. Zach was prompt, had everything prepped and ready to go, and made the whole experience smooth and fun. 10/10 would book again and already planning to come back in the spring!
