These waters are home to White Bass, Catfish, Crappie, and more if you come at the right time of year. You'll target your catch by jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Trips with ZD Fishing Guide are great for kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your vessel for the day is either a 22' Lowe Deck boat or an 18" Tracker V Hull. They have all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Zachary will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures.
Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had such a good time! It was me, my husband and my dad. This was their Father’s Day present. We caught about a hundred catfish and bass and kept 70! All 3 of us had 2 lures each on our lines and we were literally catching 2 at a time while we were “jigging”. One time all 3 of us caught 2 fish each all at the same time! 6 fish at once! That was crazy fun. Captain Zach knows where the fish are! He worked so hard and took such good care of my Dad, “Pops”. He took care of all 3 of us but taking such good care of my Dad won my heart. I actually learned a ton and I’ve fished on and off my whole life. He had all of the equipment and then some. I know we’ll do this again. My husband is already talking about a corporate trip and our friends were so jelly they want us to take them too lol. We really had a great time and Captain Zach is low key hilarious so I was giggling the whole time. I could keep going but I think thats plenty. I’ll save some words for my next review. Thank you Captain Zach for making it so much fun!
We had an amazing time on our guided fishing trip with ZD Fishing! From the moment we met our guide, it was clear we were in good hands. The boat was clean and well-equipped, and the entire experience was professional yet relaxed and fun. Our guide was not only knowledgeable about the best fishing spots, but also incredibly patient and helpful. We caught plenty of fish and learned a lot along the way. If you’re looking for a top-notch guided fishing experience, we can’t recommend ZD Fishing enough!
Had an awesome time fishing with Zach! He was professional without being boring. Super easy to get along with, great personality, and incredibly patient. We ended up catching over 50 catfish, which made for an unforgettable day on the water. Zach was prompt, had everything prepped and ready to go, and made the whole experience smooth and fun. 10/10 would book again and already planning to come back in the spring!
We had an amazing time on our guided fishing trip today with Zach! He knew Lake Lavon like the back of his hand and took us straight to the best spots. Not only did we catch our limit, but we had a ton of fun along the way. Zach was friendly, professional, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish.
