Tahoe Sportfishing
Looking to go fishing in South Lake Tahoe? Then Tahoe Sportfishing has a trip with your name on it!
Mackinaw Lake Trout, Kokanee Salmon (Jul-Sep), Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout, and more inhabit these waters, depending on conditions. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, and mooching.
Your excursion begins aboard one of our 6 boats in our fishing fleet which can carry up to 8 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board for groups of 5 or more to help your trip run smoothly. A 15–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to have a CA or NV fishing license for everyone in your group. You can purchase a CA day or an annual license at our fishing office during check in.
It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. We offer water on all our trips and coffee for our morning trips. You are welcome to bring any additional food and beverages but all we ask is NO BANNANA's.

My son and I had a great experience on the water with Captain Bobbt and Dawson. They were incredibly helpful and invested in making sure everyone on board had a great time. If you’re traveling with kids, they’ll do their best to get your kids set up for success. Constantly checking in on everyone, including kids, ensuring that their rigs are in optimum conditions. We really enjoyed the overall experience, and Captain Bobby and Dawson made it even better.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We're so glad you and your son had a great day on the water with Captain Bobby and Dawson. They take pride in making sure every guest has an enjoyable trip, and it's especially rewarding to hear that they helped set the kids up for success and kept everyone fishing throughout the trip. We'll be sure to pass along your kind words to Captain Bobby and Dawson. Thank you for choosing Tahoe Sportfishing, and we hope to welcome you both back for another great day on Lake Tahoe!
We went in the afternoon and fishing was a little slow, they make you work at it to catch them! We had to stand most if the time and constantly work to stay on the bottom, it wasn’t a just put ot in the rod holder and chill until you get a bite type of fishing, it was full time working at it. it got windy a couple hours in and it was tough fishing but the captain and crew get doing what they could to get us into fish. We caught a few smaller Mackinaw that we brought in to Mac Duffs restaurant and they made a nice spread for us and it was delicious! All in all it was a good time.

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad you had a good time on the water with us. Afternoon trips can definitely require a little more hands-on fishing, especially when targeting Mackinaw. Staying on the bottom and actively working your line is often the key to success, and we appreciate you embracing the challenge. While the afternoon wind made conditions a bit tougher, we're happy to hear our captain and crew kept working hard to keep everyone on fish. We're also glad you were able to take your catch over to MacDuff's and enjoy a fresh meal—it's one of the best ways to wrap up a day on Lake Tahoe! Thanks again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon.

Our afternoon started out slow, but Captain Bobby and Dawson never gave up. Thanks to their hard work, we ended the trip catching large lake trout all around! They were also incredibly helpful and attentive with my father-in-law, assisting him safely around the boat. Highly recommend this crew!

Thank you for the wonderful review! We're so glad Captain Bobby and Dawson stayed with it and turned a slow start into a successful afternoon on the water. It's great to hear they took excellent care of your father-in-law and made sure everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Lake Tahoe for another fishing adventure soon!

This was our first time visiting Tahoe and we had an awesome time fishing today catching about 15 great sized lake trout. The Captain and crew were extremely helpful with getting us to fish and keeping us on fish. Thanks so much and cant wait to come back and do it again!

Ask for Captain Caesar on the Hawk 2, he is very knowledgeable about the fish and the area of Lake Tahoe. Between the 8 people fishing, 11 lake trout were caught. It was a very fun experience and I would highly recommend doing it.
