If you’re in the market for a day to remember, look no further than Double Knot Fishing Charters.
Around here the fishing is popular for Amberjack, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Spanish Mackerel, Red Grouper, Red Snapper, Gag Grouper, Mahi Mahi, and more if you come at the right time of year. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 32’ Sea Pro center console with space for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don’t leave home without sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be bottled water on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is not allowed. There will be some light snacks for you on board.
