Tahoe’s Largest and Most Iconic Fishing Boat
Excited to go fishing in South Lake Tahoe? That's what Tahoe's Largest and Most Iconic Fishing Boat is here for!
Fishing around here we'll target the Mackinaw Lake Trout year round, the Kokanee Salmon July through October and if we are lucky we might catch a Rainbow or a Brown Trout. We'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, and mooching.
Your sportfishing vessel for the day is a 43' Delta sportfishing vessel that can fish up to 12 lines and hold up to 35 passengers, call for more info. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, tackle and lures waiting for you. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about that so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 15–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to have a CA or NV fishing license for everyone in your group 16 years of age and up. You can purchase a CA 1-day or an annual license at our office at check in.
It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. We offer water and coffee in the mornings and water for our afternoon trips but you are welcome to bring your own beverages and food on board all we ask is 'No Bananas'.
Now, come aboard with Tahoe's Largest and Most Iconic Fishing Boat and get hooked!

My wife and I have been visiting Tahoe on and off for years, but we’d never chartered a fishing trip in Tahoe until this summer. We booked a 4-hour private fishing trip through fishing broker with a Tahoe Sports Fishing in South Lake Tahoe, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences we’ve ever had on the lake. Initially, we hit a small snag: the boat we’d booked was undergoing repairs due to delays beyond the company’s control. However, the office staff was exceptional—promptly notifying us and rearranging our trip to ensure we weren’t disappointed. Their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction were evident from the start, and they assured us we’d have a great time. They weren’t wrong. Captain Sammy, our guide, made this trip truly unforgettable. His approach was the perfect blend of professionalism, patience, and intuition, tailored to our expectations. We wanted to catch 2–3 fish for a fresh dinner while soaking in Tahoe’s stunning scenery, and Sammy delivered beyond our hopes. He was friendly, engaging, and took the time to share his expertise, making us feel comfortable whether we were fishing or just enjoying the lake’s beauty. The trip itself was flawless. The boat was well-equipped, the lake was breathtaking, and Sammy’s knowledge of the best fishing spots ensured we met our goal with ease. We caught three beautiful fish, which made for a delicious dinner, and spent the rest of the time enjoying the crystal-clear waters and surrounding mountains. It wasn’t just a fishing trip—it was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. This was hands-down one of the best fishing trips we’ve ever taken, and we’re already looking forward to booking with this charter company again. Captain Sammy and deck hand "Spotify" the entire team turned a potential hiccup into a highlight of our Tahoe memories. If you’re considering a fishing trip in South Lake Tahoe, don’t hesitate to book with them—you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you so much for your generous and detailed review! It means a great deal to hear that your first fishing charter experience in Tahoe was such a memorable one. We're especially glad our team could turn an unexpected situation into something positive and seamless for you. Captain Sammy and deckhand “Spotify” will be pleased to know they helped make your day on the lake both successful and relaxing. It's always our goal to make each trip special, whether you're out to reel in dinner or just enjoy the serenity of the water and mountain views. We truly appreciate you choosing us and sharing your story. We’d be honored to welcome you both back for another day on the lake next time you're in Tahoe!

First time doing a charter and first time fishing tahoe. The captain and crew were awesome. Weather wasn't so great but our captain was still able to get us to the spots we needed to catch fish. Absolutely recommend to anyone visiting tahoe and want to do a fishing charter.

We are so happy you had a good time out with us. We hope to see you back soon. :)
Dean Lockwood was the original owner and John Shearer began working for him as a fishing deckhand in 1990. Dean taught Captain John the ways to fish in Lake Tahoe. Captain John and his wife Shannon later purchased the company in 1997.
