Team Mauricio is all about fishing the stunning waters of Puerto Morelos. With Captain Mauri at the helm, you’ll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
These waters are known for Great Barracuda, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Black Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), White Marlin, Sailfish, Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, and more – with any luck, you’ll have tight lines in no time. During the trip you might be trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Feel free to take home some of the fish you catch, assuming they meet regulations. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Bring a cooler ready in the car!
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don’t forget to bring snacks to keep ‘em happy!
Your vessel for the day is a 25’ Imemsa Panga with capacity for 5 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Capt. Mauri will provide rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
You might need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don’t leave home without sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks included on board.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Team Mauricio!
