Black Moon Fishing Trips offers first-rate fishing at competitive prices in the legendary Town of Puerto Morelos. Located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, the area is an angler's dream. When you're in a place that has endless fishing opportunities year-round, you go for the trophy!

The Black Moon is the perfect boat to take you fishing in the Caribbean Sea, is a 27' center console, powered by a Mercury 150 HP New brand, it has plenty of room for up to 4 guests and has a shade to keep the Mexican sun at bay. The boat is equipped with Garmin GPS, a fishfinder, a VHF radio, Taco outriggers, Penn downriggers, and a private toilet.
Spend the day trolling chasing speedy Wahoo, Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, and Sailfish. Or try bottom fishing to catch some Snapper, Grouper, Triggerfish, Goliat Grouper, Amberjack, and other top table and game species, making your trip even more exciting and productive, your captain is more than happy to clean and fillet any catch you'd like to take home with you. A tip is much appreciated!

You'll be provided with all the gear you need for a successful day on the water. The crew also brings along some drinks, water, sodas, and 2 six-packs of beer. Bring the snacks of your choice.

You're free to bring anything else you'd like to have on board.

The crew uses ballyhoo and sardine bait, also offering a variety of lures depending on your chosen target species. You will be set up for any style of fishing, with tackle ranging , Penn Senator, Shimano, and Okuma reels and Black Moon Fishing Trips organizes great trips for both novice and experienced anglers. Trip of a lifetime!

Half Day ,4 Hrs Fishing on May 29, 2026 • 4 adults

Captain Luis and Nacho were amazing, and led me (42m) and my 2 sons (13/17) on the trip of a lifetime! Luis let us know the day before our trip that the port was closed on our planned fishing day due to bad weather, but we easily rescheduled for 2 days later and crossed our fingers. Captain Luis was in constant contact and gave us the green light the night before we were ready to go! It was a 4 hour trip, they said the seas would be rough but the fish should be biting. It took about 30 minutes to get out to where they got the lines in the water, and we were fishing! After 30-45 minutes of trolling we got our first bite, my youngest son reeled in a nice sized Mahi Mahi and we were ecstatic. We took some photos, got the lines back in the water and off we went. Another 20 minutes or so and we got our 2nd fish, and as soon as we saw it jump in the distance everyone let out a cheer as we knew we had a trophy on our hands. My oldest and I took turns at the reel, and under the guidance and navigation of Captain Luis and Nacho, about 45-60 minutes later we landed a 91 inch Marlin!! They were as excited as we were about the catch. Unfortunately at that point I was seasick, and we headed back in an hour early, expectations well and truly exceeded. They had the trophy mounting reps waiting on the docks and as we measured and took photos, the little Black Moon was the envy of every boat, large and small, in the port. 10/10 would recommend.

That's true, the whole comment is exactly how the story went. We're really happy to have taken them fishing; it was an amazing trip. The sea was rough; it didn't want us to go fishing. Great day of fishing

Fishing,Snorkeling,Ceviche and Beer on March 31, 2026 • 2 adults

Captain Julio and mate Nacho.  met us at the docks and were ready to give us the best experience.  We went out deep sea fishing on rough seas.  The captain made the trip as smooth as possible and had us on fish first thing.  

Communication between ourselves and the crew was excellent.  The captain is fluent in english.

The boat was in great shape and gear was top notch.  

Many drinks and many laughs.  

We have deep sea fished many times on our visits to Mexico. This by far was one of the best days fishing we have ever had.  

We would recommend Black Moon Charters and Captain Julio to anyone that visits Peurto Morelos area and is looking for a day of fishing.

Captains Julio and Nacho were amazing.  We caught a Mahi Mahi and numerous groundfish including Yellow Tail Snapper.  We booked this boat because the reviews were so positive.  
Here is one more positive review.  The Black Moon was easy to find at the dock.  We kept to the schedule.   pre departure communication was excellent.  Everything was taken care of.  we enjoyed mahi mahi ceviche and tacos that night.  we are english speakers with a little Spanish.  On boat communication was awesome (safe, entertaining  and informative)

great 1st time fish Mexico

First time to Mexico and fishing was top of my list. booked a trip on the Black Moon. Captain Julio and Nacho were awesome. We tried trolling but the seagrass was making it challenging. We switched to bottom fishing and had immediate success. These fellas know their stuff. We caught a pile of fish. Had a lot of laughs and a great time. They are pretty good singer too. The wife out fished me again but I'll get over it. Thanks for the memories and I hope to be back soon. I highly recommend this Boat and Captain. I chose them because of their good reviews and they didn't disappoint.

This time we couldn't troll due to the amount of sargassum, but plan B always works. We decided to bottom fish and had the opportunity to catch some species like snapper, triggerfish, porgy, and a few more. Thanks for your comments. Regards.

Great day fishing!

Great day fishing. Started the morning trolling and then switch to drop fishing. Captain Julio and first mate Nacho did a amazing job adapting our approach and we were on fish early and often. It was our first time fishing in Puerto Morelos and we are beyond happy we chose the Black Moon. Anyone looming to book a charter can rest easy choosing them. We will be back again!
